Meghan Markle leaves Invictus Games and flies home without Prince Harry
Meghan had played a prominent role at the event organised by Prince Harry in recent days.
Meghan Markle is to fly home from the Invictus Games while Prince Harry remains at the event in Canada, according to reports.
The Duchess of Sussex has been at her husband's side for the first five days of the multi-sport competition for veterans, putting on a loved-up display in the stands at the seventh annual event, which Harry launched in 2014.
The royal couple were pictured sipping pints of beer while watching the winter sporting events in the northern Vancouver town of Whistler yesterday, but sources confirmed that she had returned to California to reunite with their three children on Tuesday.
Harry is expected to stay in Vancouver for the duration of the games, which will end with a large-scale closing ceremony on Sunday, featuring live performances from the Bare Naked Ladies and Jelly Roll.
It comes after a family who had breakfast with Meghan and Harry at their hotel on Saturday said the Duchess had admitted to missing Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three.
"I was just talking to Meghan about her kids. She said her kids were at home and she missed them and she was excited to see a baby that was so happy. She said she misses them and remembers when they were young," Cynthia Phelps, who was visiting from Alaska, said, as per The Mirror.
