There’s a lot riding on Meghan Markle’s Netflix show. Not only it is important the series does well in th wake of Polo’s flop, but the Duchess of Sussex, 43, reportedly wants to silence critics with her lifestyle show, With Love, Meghan.
Speaking to OK! Magazine, a source claimed Meghan wants to get “revenge” on everyone who’s criticized her with her new Netflix series. “Meghan feels this show will be the perfect revenge for all her doubters and haters,” the insider said.
They continued, saying Meghan feels strongly the cooking and entertaining show she executive produced and filmed in Montecito, Calif., in the summer of 2024, will be a success and, in turn, quiet critics.
“She is so confident it’s going to do well and she will get the accolades she deserves for it, which will finally shut some people up,” they said. “She can’t wait.”
Meghan, they continued, “was a very successful actress and has lots of experience in the TV world.” She starred on Suits for seven seasons. “She has always been confident in her own abilities. And while her confidence took a knock when she was in the Royal Family, she is riding high again and she’s so proud of this show.”
Exacting her “perfect revenge” isn’t all Meghan hopes to achieve with her Netflix show. The insider also claimed the former Suits star wants to prove she’s more than just Prince “Harry’s wife.”
“People tend to underestimate her. But Meghan knows what the audience wants and she is giving them that with this show,” the source said. “And nobody can criticise [sic] her for cashing in on her royal connections because she doesn’t really mention them. She is just determined to show that she can make it on her own without Harry and her titles.”
The insider continued, saying Meghan’s returning to her “roots” in With Love, Meghan. “Some people think she’s only famous because of Harry, but that’s not true and she’s going back to her roots. People always open up to her because she listens and cares. She knows the audience will warm to her if they give the show a chance.”
Alice Waters and Meghan Markle on ‘With Love, Meghan’ |It seems Meghan will have to wait a little bit longer to prove her haters wrong. Originally scheduled to begin streaming on Jan. 15, 2025, Meghan’s Netflix show isn’t premiering just yet. She decided to push back the show’s release in light of the California wildfires.
“I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California,” she said in a statement after visiting victims and first responders with the Duke of Sussex (via Tudum).
“At the request of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and with the full support of Netflix, the release of the show — a heartfelt tribute to the beauty of Southern California — has been moved from its previously announced January premiere date to March 4, due to the ongoing devastation caused by the Los Angeles wildfires,” the statement continued.
Watch all eight episodes of Meghan’s Netflix show beginning March 4, 2025.
