Meghan Markle's Netflix show to be boycotted by Royal Family for savage reason
Meghan Markle's Netflix series With Love, Meghan is available to stream from today but one royal expert has insisted that the Royal Family will not be tuning in.
Meghan Markle's much-anticipated Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, has finally been released after months of speculation.
The eight-part series provides a peek into the Duchess of Sussex's Californian lifestyle, sharing her expertise on cooking, crafting, and hosting.
â
In the lead-up to the show's release, Meghan had been teasing fans with snippets on her newly launched Instagram account, including adorable clips featuring her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, the Mirror reports.
While Netflix is undoubtedly hoping for high viewership, one royal expert suggests that there's a group unlikely to tune in - Meghan's estranged Royal Family.
â
Jennie Bond, former BBC Royal correspondent, told the Mirror that due to the strained relationship between Meghan and her husband Prince Harry's family, they don't give her "any consideration" implying they won't be watching the show.
She stated: "I doubt if anyone from the Royal Family will bother to watch it. Nor will they give any consideration to the next phase of her life. I really feel she has made herself irrelevant to the rest of the family."
Originally, With Love, Meghan was scheduled to debut on Netflix in mid-January. However, three days before its intended premiere, the duchess announced a delay to March 4 due to the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles.
â
Recently, the series has faced scrutiny over its content, with reports suggesting that it will focus more on hosting tips rather than recipes, contrary to initial speculation that it would be a cooking show.
Furthermore, comparisons have been drawn to a similar lifestyle series presented by Pamela Anderson, former Baywatch actress.
â
According to Jennie, Meghan is likely to be frustrated by these criticisms, saying: "I think she will justifiably feel annoyed that her plans have drawn such criticism. But I guess she's used to it by now. I think it's ridiculous to suggest she's copying other people. First of all, there's very little in the media world that is original."
Jennie continued: "And secondly she started out as an influencer â and a very successful one â so it makes perfect sense for her to return to one of her strengths.
"I think the Netflix publicity is rather to blame, suggesting that this is something new, when the idea of cooking and chatting with friends and celebrity guests has been around for years. But there's nothing wrong in Meghan giving her own take on a well-used format."
â
With Love, Meghan promises to give viewers a glimpse into her LA life, blending practical advice with candid conversations, as per Netflix's description.
