Meghan Markle teases new Netflix show in trailer
Meghan Markle has cheekily suggested to her pal Mindy Kaling that she should start calling her "Sussex" in a playful moment from her latest Netflix series. In the show With Love, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex invites the star of The Office to the plush ÂŁ5 million pad where it's filmed for a candid chat about their younger years.
As they reminisced, Meghan revealed her humble fast-food upbringing, saying she "grew up with fast food, TV tray dinners, and microwavable kids' meals," while also enjoying Taco Bell and Jack in the Box, reports the Express.
Mindy, taken aback by the revelation, quipped: "People wouldn't believe that Meghan Markle ate at Jack in the Box."
To which Meghan playfully retorted: "It's so funny, too, that you keep saying Meghan Markle. You know I'm Sussex now."
Meghan Markle had a cheeky exchange with her Hollywood pal Mindy Kaling
This light-hearted exchange follows Meghan's heartfelt admission to People Magazine about the profound meaning behind the Sussex title, especially after becoming a mother. She expressed how much it means to have a shared family name with Archie, Lili, and Harry, saying: "I love that that is something that Archie, Lili, H and I all have together. It means a lot to me."
This comes five years after Meghan and Harry decided to step back as senior working royals and make their home in Montecito, California.
The title of Sussex was granted to Meghan and Prince Harry by Queen Elizabeth II on their wedding day, May 19, 2018. The late Queen presented her grandson with the Duke of Sussex title in celebration of his marriage, officially making him His Royal Highness The Duke of Sussex.
As his bride, Meghan adopted the corresponding title of Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex. However, some critics argue that Meghan is incorrectly using the Sussex title as her surname.
Despite the playful nature of the moment, some viewers were less than impressed.

One disgruntled user accused her of arrogance, writing: "Excuse me but #MeghanMarkle wants you to know that her last name is Sussex. Not so fast, Markle. Not in the US. We don't have titles and "of Sussex" is a title.
They continued: "Had you stayed in the UK? Sure. You just decided a year or so ago to use Sussex for your mystery kids. The pretentious arrogance is WILD. Titles mean nothing here. Deal with it."
Another retorted: "Your last name is Windsor- Mountbatten, Sussex is your title! A prestigious name for this moron who appreciates nothing."
A third chimed in: "She doesn't even know her name. It's not Sussex; that is not what she has on her children's birth certificates."
