Rumours about Meghan, Duchess of Sussex's management style have plagued her for years - with reports claiming that some members of her staff felt "bullied" by the Duchess going back as far as her time as a working royal. A new report in Vanity Fair saw more allegations emerge about the difficulties some of her staff have found whilst working with her - including that one staff member went on to do "long-term therapy" after working with Meghan, while others took "extended breaks".
The report further claimed that the possibility of Meghan writing a "post-divorce" tell-all memoir had been floated - despite the fact that the outlet confirmed Prince Harry and Meghan's marriage is going strong and that the couple is still "hot for each other".
Meghan has strongly denied claims that she bullied palace staff, calling them a "smear" against her character, and reports have claimed that these recent allegations have been "distressing" for both the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Harry and Meghan have been left distressed by the allegations against them
Whilst not every employee who has worked for the Duchess has found it a negative experience, with several former and current employees going on the record with Us Weekly about how much they enjoyed working with Meghan, the gossip around the state of the couple's relationship is something that Harry has addressed before.
During a sit-down with the New York Times Dealbook Summit in December, Harry quashed rumours that he and Meghan were splitting up. "Apparently we've bought or moved house 10, 12 times," Harry joked, "We've apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it's just like, what?"
However, it seems the couple may be poised to adopt a new strategy in light of these unflattering claims, aiming to show a "united front" after months of attending most of their public work events solo.
Meghan and Harry will make a joint appearance at the Invictus Games
The Express reports that "Insiders suggest that the Sussexes now plan to prioritise joint appearances to project a united front and improve their image," and that this will include an upcoming major event: the Invictus Games.
"According to the source, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will attend the Invictus Games opening ceremony at BC Place Vancouver on February 8.
"Originally planned as a solo trip for the Duke, 40, this shift reflects their renewed focus on collaboration in public engagements."
The couple has also hired Three Gate Strategies to head up their PR efforts going forward, run by their former Head of Communications, Ashley Hansen, with a source reported as saying: "The Sussexes have decided to step back a little and let Ashley take the reins" when it comes to their brand.
