Mel Gibson has been involved in some of Hollywood's most iconic film franchises. The 69-year-old actor was one of the guests at this year's MegaCon in Orlando, a convention where all manner of genre offerings are celebrated.
Gibson hosted a panel where he shared his opinions on "Mad Max," one of the most famous franchises he's been involved with, and discussed future projects, prompting a reunion with one of his most iconic co-stars to the surprise of the convention's attendees.

The franchise continues to this day, with the most recent iteration called "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga," starring Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth.

When asked about his favorite one, he had a clear answer. "I think the second installment was the best. It was just pure. It was just a chase," he said.
"From an audience point of view, I thought it was the cleanest. It had some excellent thrills. No special effects, they were just throwing stuff out of a truck."
Aside from his work as an actor, Gibson has also made a name for himself as a directorGibson's surprise reunion with his co-starGibson was in the middle of discussing his career and some of the roles that he could have been involved with when a surprise guest joined him on the stage.

The film went on to form a franchise, resulting in three sequels that made almost a billion dollars internationally.
In 2020, it was confirmed that a fifth film was in development, with Gibson recently showing his interest in directing the film. His reunion with Glover is a suggestion that while the fifth film may not already be a done deal, it's likely heading in the right direction.
