Melania Trump Admits Divisions With Donald Trump, Teases Return Of Derided Platform
The former-turned-future first lady stressed her independence in a new interview with Fox News.
Melania Trump admitted to sometimes having differences in opinion with her husband, President-elect Donald Trump, in an interview with âFox & Friendsâ co-host Ainsley Earhardt that Fox News aired Monday morning.
But the former-turned-future first lady didnât elaborate on exactly what the couple is divided over.
The admission came after Earhardt asked Trump if entering the White House for a second time felt different to the first, in 2017.

âI feel I was always me the first time, as well,â Melania Trump told Earhardt.
âI just feel that people didnât accept me, maybe, they didnât understand me the way maybe they do now and I didnât have much support,â she continued. âMaybe some people, they see me as just the wife of the president, but Iâm standing on my own two feet, independent. I have my own thoughts. I have my own âyesâ and âno.â I donât always agree with my husband is saying or doing. And thatâs OK.â
Earhardt pressed Melania Trump: âAre you able to tell him when you disagree?â
âI give him my advice and sometimes he listens. Sometimes he doesnât. And thatâs OK,â she responded.
The interview was ostensibly about Melania Trumpâs new documentary, which Amazon has reportedly spent $40 million licensing.
Trump claimed to have received âso many messages and lettersâ in support of her 2024 memoir, âMelania,â that she âhad an idea to make a movie, to make a film about my life.â

Shooting is taking place âright now,â she revealed, and it will focus on her âday-to-day lifeâ including her role as FLOTUS and her husbandâs transition back into government.
Elsewhere in the interview, Melania Trump said there would be some small changes to the White House decor that she had during her husbandâs first term. She would continue and even expand her anti-bullying platform, âBe Best,â she added, which drew repeated ridicule during her husbandâs first term because of his penchant for insulting and attacking political enemies and others.
