Kim Tae Ri and Shin Ye Eun will wage a fierce battle for the same part in the finale of tvNâs âJeongnyeon: The Star is Bornâ!
Based on a popular webtoon, âJeongnyeon: The Star is Bornâ is a drama set in the 1950s, shortly after the Korean War. Kim Tae Ri stars as the titular Jeong Nyeon, a young vocal prodigy who dreams of becoming a top traditional theater actor.

On the previous episode of âJeongnyeon: The Star is Born,â Jeong Nyeon returned to the Maeran troupe after refusing to give up on her dream. In the wake of the departures of prima donnas Moon Ok Gyung (Jung Eun Chae) and Seo Hye Rang (Kim Yoon Hye), Jeong Nyeon and her rival Heo Yeong Seo (Shin Ye Eun) began to compete for the spot of the troupeâs new top star.
In newly released stills from the dramaâs upcoming final episode, Jeong Nyeon and Yeong Seo audition for the leading role in the troupeâs next production. Under the keen eye of troupe leader Kang So Bok (Ra Mi Ran), the two rising stars offer very different interpretations of the same role. Yeong Seo fully throws herself into the part with a blazing passion, and the mad glint in her eye during her audition reveals just how immersed she is in the character.
Meanwhile, Jeong Nyeon displays a far more restrained and understated take on the same role. Jeong Nyeon doesnât move much, and she exudes a quiet charisma as she acts out the part with an intense gaze.
The dramaâs production team remarked, âToday marks the final act of âJeongnyeon: The Star is Born.â In the final episode, the Maeran traditional theater troupeâs final performanceâwhich many viewers have been waiting forâwill take place.â
