Miley Cyrus' 2025 Oscars Looks Had Heads Turning For The Wrong Reasons - Glam
Miley Cyrus is a bit of a fashion and beauty wildcard, and she upheld that title perfectly at both the 2025 Oscars and the Vanity Fairy Oscars 2025 After-Party.

So far, 2025 isn't shaping up to be Miley Cyrus' strongest style year. Not only did the former Disney star land on our list of the worst-dressed celebs at the 2025 Grammys, but her Oscars looks this Sunday, March 2, had us feeling both surprised and confused. And yes, you read that right: "looks," as in plural. The "Flowers" singer hit the red carpet rocking a divisive trend, but things took an even bigger turn for the worse when she arrived at the Vanity Fair Oscars 2025 After-Party (brace yourself).

But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Cyrus had everything she needed to deliver a stunning, glamorous moment, yet somehow, all of the focus shifted to her eyebrows. Of course, we shouldn't be too shocked â from her "Bangerz" era to her punk aesthetic, Miley Cyrus has gone through a bold style transformation over the years. We're just not sure where it's headed these days. For the movie industry's biggest night, Cyrus wore a black Alexander McQueen gown featuring a high neckline, a bedazzled bodice with accentuated hips, and sharp, pointy elements around her thighs, all leading into a sheer skirt.
On its own, the dress was lovely, but nothing we hadn't seen before. Cyrus' stylist, Bradley Kenneth, attempted to up the glam factor by adding short, lace gloves, but with the gown's lack of sleeves, we can't help but feel that longer gloves would have been a better choice. The "Wrecking Ball" singer completed her look with statement-worthy Boucheron Fine Jewelry earrings and a bracelet. However, her eyebrows were what everyone ended up talking about.

Her voluminous, retro-inspired curls added a touch of Old-Hollywood glamor that helped make the gown more elegant. Unfortunately, all of that was quickly overshadowed the moment we got a look at her barely there eyebrows. Now, don't get us wrong â we have nothing against this trend. In fact, when we discussed which outdated eyebrow trends it's time to let go of with celebrity makeup artist and beauty educator Manuel Espinoza, he made it clear that the bleached brow isn't going anywhere anytime soon. "Bleached eyebrows are back, and we're bleaching them to intentionally soften the brows for makeup looks," he exclusively told Glam in February. "In 2025, we will see a rise in bold eye makeup trends, which means the focus will be on eyeshadow, and the brows will take a backseat."

However, Cyrus' brows weren't just lightly bleached to let her eyeshadow shine, as was the case at the 2025 Grammys â this time, it looks like the bleach was left on for a little too long. After all, there is a fine line between your brows taking a backseat and them leaving the vehicle completely. Of course, social media users went wild with the look, with one user on X, formerly known as Twitter, writing, "The biggest question of the night: who stole Miley's eyebrows? They must be apprehended and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law!"

Now, micro bangs may be a risky trend, but they can also be the ultimate bold statement â and some people can absolutely pull them off. Unfortunately, Cyrus' fresh fringe looked shaggy and uneven (even though celebrity hairstylist Bob Recine was behind it), and when paired with her bleached brows, it was all just too much.

The star debuted her new brows-and-bangs combo in a classy, upscaled LBD from Maison Margiela that looked stunning on her. Unfortunately, all of that was overshadowed by her controversial beauty choices. But hey, just because we're not fans of it doesn't mean the look was a flop for everyone, and at the end of the day, Cyrus seemed perfectly happy attending two major industry events with her boyfriend, fellow musician Maxx Morando.
