Millie Bobby Brown Debuted a Dainty New Tattoo That Pays Tribute to Jake Bongiovi

Millie Bobby Brown debuted a tiny new tattoo that appeared to pay tribute to husband Jake Bongiovi on March 4, one day after addressing "disturbing" comments about her face and body.

Millie Bobby Brown is wearing her heart on her sleeve–or rather, her ankle. The Stranger Things actress debuted a sweet new ankle tattoo dedicated to her husband Jake Bongiovi on Tuesday, March 4 as the couple stepped out together in London. Before making a red hot appearance at a photocall for The Electric State that evening, Brown leaned into a head-to-toe animal print style moment while showing off her dainty new ink, per photos obtained by People. 

Wearing a cheetah print beret jauntily perched on her newly blonde blowout, the Enola Holmes star went full mob wife in a matching mini trench coat dress cinched with a tie, black sunglasses, and towering cheetah print oxford platform heels. She held a matching cheetah print umbrella to keep the London drizzle off of her, and a tattoo on Brown’s left ankle, which read “JB”– a sweet reference to her husband’s initials–could be seen for the first time. Meanwhile, Bongiovi opted for a contrasting casual look, stepping out in dark brown slacks, a slate gray v-neck sweater, and a white t-shirt. White sneakers and black sunglasses completed his look.

Brown’s bold animal print look–as well as the sequined red bustier-style dress she paired with red lipstick just hours later that evening–appeared to be a defiant reference to an Instagram post she penned on March 3 that pushed back on commentary “bullying” her over her changing appearance.

As she addressed a slew of hateful comments and articles aimed at her face and body, she revealed she’d become a “target” as a result of growing up in the spotlight.

“I started in this industry when I was 10 years old. I grew up in front of the world, and for some reason, people can’t seem to grow with me,” she shared in her emotional video. "Instead, they act like I’m supposed to stay frozen in time, like I should still look the way I did on Stranger Things Season 1. And because I don’t, I’m now a target.”

After calling out several recent stories and journalists who’d speculated about plastic surgery and her grown-up look, she said, “The fact that adult writers are spending their time dissecting my face, my body, my choices, it’s disturbing."

She continued, "Disillusioned people can’t handle seeing a girl become a woman on her terms, not theirs. I refuse to apologize for growing up. I refuse to make myself smaller to fit the unrealistic expectations of people who can’t handle seeing a girl become a woman. I will not be shamed for how I look, how I dress, or how I present myself.”
