Millie Bobby Brown Just Debuted Blonde Hair That Is So Y2K Britney Spears
Millie Bobby Brown has swapped her signature brunette hair for a bleached blonde look as the final season of 'Stranger Things' wraps.

Millie Bobby Brown isâwellânot so brown anymore! The Stranger Things actress just debuted a bold new look in a series of Instagram photos. As the final season of the Netflix show wraps, the actress has ditched her signature brunette hair in favor of a bold bleached blonde blowout. Several fans pointed out that Brown was looking an awful look like a certain iconic pop star. "Oh shit. Is she actually playing Britney?!" one commented. "BRITNEY???" another wrote. "BRITNEY IS COMING," wrote a third.

The first photo was particularly Britney Spears-coded thanks to the over top of the pink and purple Y2K Windows computer graphics which instantly conjured up flashbacks to the early aughts and the days of AOL messenger and J-14 Magazine. In the snap, Brown showed off her new bleached blonde hair, which was cut in textured face-framing layers, while wearing a dark lip and a smokey eye.
In the other two photos in the carousel, Brown posed against a white wall in the same dress.

Funnily enough, Brown once noted that Spears was at the top of her list of dream roles. "I want to play a real person and I think, for me, Britney," she said during a 2022 appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show. "[It] would be Britney Spears," she said. "I think her story, first of all, resonates with me. Just growing up in the public eye, watching her videos, watching interviews how when she was younger."
She went on, "I see the scramble for words [in her interviews] and I don't know her, but when I look at pictures of her, I feel like I could tell her story in the right way and hers only."

The fifth and final season of Netflix's Stranger Things wrapped last month. In the show, Brown plays Eleven, a girl with supernatural powers, and, yes, brown hair. Could Brown's new blonde look be a sign that she's already working on a new Y2K-coded project? Time will tell.
