Millie Bobby Brown's Chunky French Manicure Belongs on The Sopranos
This is PEAK mob wife aesthetic.
Forget Stranger Things' final season! Millie Bobby Brown is ready to leave Eleven behind for a role on The Sopranos—well, her nails are, anyway.
The actor leaned all the way into the mob wife aesthetic while promoting her new movie The Electric State in Madrid, Spain, rocking a chunky French manicure that would make Carmela Soprano jealous. Her nails were much longer than usual and filed into Carmela's favorite squared-off shape, with a classic pale pinky-nude French mani base and bright white tips. But this wasn't a subtle French with a skinny strip of white at the edge of the nail; it was extra chunky, with the white portion taking up nearly half of her nail real estate. Instead of an updo, Brown opted to wear her hair down in a classic Old Hollywood wave style, with a dramatic side part and curls cascading over one shoulder.

Brown has been flirting with the mob wife look recently and the evidence has been popping up all over the red carpet. She recently swapped her natural dark brown hair for a bright golden blonde, and for another Electric State premiere, she wore said blonde hair atop her head in a messy Pamela Anderson-adjacent updo—one that would be right at home on The Sopranos set too.
She's not the only celebrity to embrace the aesthetic. In late 2024, Sabrina Carpenter put her spin on the look with a Fran Fine twist, stepping out in New York with extra-, extra-voluminous blonde curls and a hint of leopard print, a.k.a. a mob wife's signature print. Cardi B took the mob wife aesthetic to new heights with a towering updo and sideswept bangs, plus—you guessed it!—a whole lotta leopard print. Has everyone been watching (or rewatching) The Sopranos and taking beauty notes? Been there!
