Morgan Wallen Appears To Confirm Female Collaborator on Upcoming Album (And It’s Not Who We Thought)
Morgan Wallen seemed to verify the identity of his first female duet partner in an Instagram post on Wednesday, April 16.
In exactly one month (May 16), Morgan Wallen will drop one of 2025’s most anticipated albums. I’m the Problem, the follow-up to 2023’s record-breaking One Thing at a Time, clocks in at a sprawling 37 tracks. Recently, 31-year-old Wallen verified that one of those 37 tracks will feature the first lady collaborator of his career. Now, the “Whiskey Glasses” crooner has seemingly confirmed his female partner’s identity. And, it turns out, most of us were wrong.
With two simple words, Morgan Wallen pitched a good chunk of social media headfirst into an online rabbit hole.
“Indeed sir,” the reigning Entertainer of the Year replied to a tagged post asking him to confirm if “What I Want” is a duet.
“You haven’t yet sang with any female artists on any of your first three albums, so PLEASE tell me this is the case,” implored X/Twitter user @PatrickThomes.
Fans flocked to the internet to post their guesses, with “Tennessee Orange” singer (and Wallen’s former romantic partner, sort of) Megan Moroney’s name coming up again and again.
Then, budding pop princess Tate McRae caught fans’ eyes when she shared a close-up of an orange Tennessee Volunteers jersey to her social media. The jersey reads, “T8,” with Wallen’s initials “MW” on a patch.
Finally, Wallen put an end to the speculation himself. In a Wednesday (April 16) Instagram post, the “I Had Some Help” singer shared artwork of a NASCAR-esque race car decorated with I’m the Problem Easter eggs.
“37 songs featuring Tate McRae, Eric Church, HARDY, Ernest, and Post Malone,” Wallen wrote.

After two successful EPs, the now 21-year-old pop star released her debut studio album, I Used to Think I Could Fly, in 2016. She is best known for 2023’s chart-topping “Greedy” and the international Top 10 singer “Sports Car.’
