One person, Mark Remedios, posted a video to social media showing the spiral orb fluttering in the night sky. Meanwhile, a local in Denton, Tameside, was left bewildered by an unusual sighting in the sky, asking: "Anyone seen the strange moving objects in the sky? 8pm. One bright thing with white misty rings round it. Moving slow for ages then completely disappeared."
The mysterious orb is thought to be linked with Monday's launch of the SpaceX US spy satellite and appears to be the most logical explanation.
This isn't the first time such a spectacle has occurred as in 2023, the United States bore witness to a similar spiral pattern in the sky, which later turned out to be excess fuel ejected from a SpaceX rocket that took off from California hours before.
