If you're looking to sleep in luxury without spending money on a five-star hotel, then there's one bedding set you need to try - and it's on the high street.

The Madison Quilted Velvet Duvet Cover and Pillowcase Set from Next is currently a popular buy among shoppers who have hailed it as "pure luxury". Costing from £38, it's significantly cheaper than a luxury resort stay.

Its quilted velvet material that is finished with a Chevron pattern will give your own bedroom that premium aesthetic. According to many reviews, this set washes up so well that it "doesn't need ironing", which will take out any stress of remaking the bed.

The set itself is available in a range of bed sizes, with differing prices. A single costs £38, with a double costing £48, a king costing £48, while a super king is priced at £68.

A glowing review read: "I bought the Madison velvet duvet set. It looks amazing on the bed - pure luxury. I have recently washed it and it doesn't need ironing!"

Homewares deal of the week

We have found the Debenhams deal worth looking at amidst the current colder weather.

If you don't want to turn on the heating, then you can keep warm with the "snuggly" Livivo Heated Throw that is currently on offer for 36 percent less in the Debenhams sale where it is now £44.99, down from £69.99.

As for the heated throw itself, it has been described as a "must have for staying warm". Measuring 130x160cm, it comes with adjustable temperature settings and a nine-hour timer, making it ideal for snuggling up with when in need of some extra warmth.

And you don't have to worry about racking up the heating bill, as it is said to cost "from as little as 3p per hour", according to the firm. Available in four colours - pink, chocolate, grey and beige - it's fluffy material will keep you warm, even without the heated element.

Shoppers who have bought the Livivo Heated Throw have left it rave reviews on the Debenhams website, with praise suggesting it "heats up quickly" and is "just perfect for the colder weather".

A five-star review read: "A really lovely blanket even when its not on. Really soft and quite heavy. Heats up really quickly, just perfect for the cold weather."

A second read: "Nice and toasty. A really terrific electric blanket keeps the bed nice and cosy."

Someone else remarked: "Absolutely beautiful and cosy duvet cover. No hesitation in recommending it."

Another shopper added: "Love this duvet cover & pillow case set so much I bought a second set for when the first is in the wash. The velvet is visually subtle but so soft to sleep on."
