Nick Offerman felt like he was 'called up to the major leagues' with new 'Mission Impossible' role. A Super Bowl ad didn't hurt either.
While promoting his Pringles ad, the actor said it was "fascinating and thrilling" to work on "MI: 8". He also said Tom Cruise is "really in shape."

Nick Offerman is ready for the big game — and a big year. The actor teamed up with Adam Brody, James Harden and Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid for a new Pringles Super Bowl ad ... which Offerman chalked up to booking because he has a mustache.
"I work really hard at certain things. I went to theater school and I'm classically trained. So when I offer myself for any job opportunity, I usually put a lot of craft into my audition or my preparation. And once in a while, some people come along who just want a mustache and they don't really give a shit how refined the donkey is who carries the mustache onto the set," Offerman laughed to Yahoo Entertainment. "This was one of those glorious opportunities."
If you thought Offerman's new "Call of the Mustaches" campaign might score him some credit around the house with his wife, Megan Mullally, you'd be wrong. The Pringles ad didn't get him out of doing his share of household chores.

"Someone who has the talent and beauty of my wife can only laugh when someone like me — who I'll generously say, has a different skill set than talent and beauty — when good opportunities come my way," he explained. "She just has a good laugh and says, 'Well, I guess there's no accounting for taste.' And she's an incredible cook. So I am happily doing the dishes."
It's shaping up to be an exciting year for the Emmy-winning actor. Offerman joined the cast of Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning, out in May, which is the veteran actor's first blockbuster.
"It was pretty incredible. I kill [Tom Cruise], but I'm not sure if I'm supposed to say that," he joked. In all seriousness, it was a bucket list experience for Offerman.
"Megan and I went and stayed in London, which is where we got engaged, and it's kind of our favorite city in the world. I have very seldom worked on sort of any kind of big budget, anything really. To work on such a top-drawer action movie was really just fascinating and thrilling," he said. "Everybody was really great."
As for Cruise, Offerman remarked that his co-star "really keeps in shape" — which is clear in the trailer because the action star runs a lot. (Cruise has poked fun at this too)
"It kind of felt like being called up to the major leagues where you were just like, 'Holy cow,'" Offerman said. "I can't believe I'm in this game. And I really hope that I get every grounder that comes my way."
See if Offerman — and his mustache — can save a snacking emergency when his ad airs at the end of the second quarter during the Super Bowl on Feb. 9.
