Olivia Rodrigo Gives Impassioned Performance of ‘Drivers License’ and ‘Deja Vu’ at FireAid Concert
Olivia Rodrigo gave an impassioned performance of her hits 'Drivers License' and 'Deja Vu' at FireAid.
As the night soldiered on, attendees at FireAid were treated to show-stopping moments from three-fourths of Nirvana reuniting with a carousel of singers and Stevie Nicks running through a spate of her classics. And then came Olivia Rodrigo, who showed love for her hometown of Los Angeles with an impassioned mini-set of songs from her growing catalog.
The singer started on a more somber note with her breakthrough hit “Drivers License,” the 2021 single that put her on the mainstream map. As the song swelled, the audience sang along to Rodrigo as she stood perched at the front of the stage. But she switched it up with her second song, taking a moment to address the crowd before launching into “Deja Vu.”
“Wow thank you guys so much for having me, thank you so much for being here,” she said. “It has been so heartbreaking to witness all of this devastation in this incredible city. I love LA so much, I’ve lived here my whole life. I love everybody who lives in LA. You guys are amazing, I find this place so beautiful and so inspiring and I’ve written many songs about living here in my life, like this one. So here goes.”
