Penny Lancaster reveals why she banned Rod Stewart from going near Donald Trump
Penny appeared on Loose Women on Friday where she opened up about attending Trump's parties in the past.
Penny Lancaster has revealed that she and her husband Sir Rod Stewart have distanced themselves from Donald Trump. The former model-turned-police officer was on the Loose Women panel on Friday afternoon where she said that she has banned her husband from attending parties of the US President
In years gone by, Penny and Rod, 80, would go to parties hosted by Trump, who lives "five minutes from them" at their Florida home. Penny admitted that initially things "seemed fine" when the couple attended the parties, but things changed when Trump "crossed all sorts of boundaries" when he ran for President again.
‌
Speaking on the ITV show, Penny said: 'We used to go to parties hosted by him, he looked after all his guests and it seemed fine. But when he began to run for President, I started to hear those dangerous rhetorics.
‌
"I was just like 'woah, this is crossing all sorts of boundaries here'. And from that point onwards I said to my husband, 'we are not going anywhere near him again.'"
Last year, the Maggie May singer stopped his concert in Las Vegas to take a potshot at Trump. While performing at the Colosseum in Vegas, he projected a post from X on stage showing four different photos of the then-former US President.
‌
The pictures were shown on a colour scale of different shades of orange alongside the caption: "I didn't know he was Orange until a number of years ago, when he happened to turn Orange.
"I respect either one, but he obviously doesn't because all of a sudden he made a turn and he went - he became an Orange person. I think somebody should look into that."
