Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have found themselves at the centre of a brutal takedown by Vanity Fair magazine.
The glossy US publication has delved into the Sussexes' lives five years since they decided to quit as working royals, and the allegations have sent shockwaves across the internet.
In a cover article headlined 'American Hustle', the damning piece contains more troubling claims about what it's allegedly like to work for the couple. These follow previous bullying accusations against Meghan, which she has always strenuously denied.
The magazine had previously been sympathetic to the couple, however, it turns out that according to a book, there had been a row several years ago between the publication, Meghan and her publicist - not long after her romance with Harry had gone public.

In 2017, the now Duchess of Sussex appeared on the front of Vanity Fair to mark the 100th episode of her hit TV legal drama Suits and it had been secured with the help of her then-new PR advisor Keleigh Thomas Morgan. The cover and interview, which had been approved at the time by Kensington Palace, showed a glamorous picture of Meghan with the headline 'She's Just Wild About Harry'. Inside, she talked about her love story with her now husband and confirmed, "We're in love".
However, according to respected former Times royal correspondent Valentine Low, Meghan hated the piece and was furious with her PR rep as she did not like the photos, thought the story was negative and focused too much on Harry.

And in his book Courtiers, it is also claimed she viewed the headline on the cover as 'racist'. The book says: "She and Harry pointed out that the song, 'I'm Just Wild About Harry', had been performed by Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney as a blackface number in the 1939 film Babes in Arms. 'They [Harry and Meghan] tried to get it changed online, because [they thought] it had been racially motivated,' said the source.
Meanwhile, the article also contains sources who are said to be neighbours of the couple in Montecito, saying they were 'entitled' and 'disingenuous'. But according to The Times, the Sussexes have dismissed the allegations with a source close to them describing them as 'distressing'.
Those close to Harry and Meghan also reportedly point to comments made by actress Sharon Stone when they first moved to Montecito back in 2020, who said that the couple would wave to people in the street and had become a "giving, caring, participating part of our community."
Among the other claims made in the Vanity Fair article are that Harry underestimated the impact his explosive memoir Spare would have on relations with his family, that Meghan has 're-parented' Harry and that the couple lacked ideas when it came to their Netflix and Spotify deals.
The article in the magazine comes just months after a piece in the Hollywood Reporter claimed Meghan had been labelled 'Duchess Difficult'. However, in the days after the piece, current and former employees of the Sussexes spoke out in defence of working for Meghan in US Weekly magazine.
