Royal enthusiasts have stumbled upon an intriguing detail about Prince Harry following the reappearance of his son's birth certificate online.
As the Duke of Sussex, 40, garners attention with the upcoming seventh Invictus Games starting today (Saturday, February 8) in Vancouver and Whistler, Canada, a curious fact has emerged.
Harry, who is a founding patron of the Games, expressed in a Netflix documentary: "Our Invictus Games community represents some of the bravest and most dedicated individuals from 23 nations across the globe. Heart of Invictus is the incredible story of competitors brought together through service, who are now united through sport."
However, as Harry grabs the spotlight again, eagle-eyed people couldn't help but remark on Prince Archieâs birth certificate that popped up again on social media. The revelation? Harry's actual first name isn't Harryâit's Henry.
One user posted: "PRINCE HARRYS REAL NAME IS HENRY?? wtf," while another was equally astonished: "PRINCE HARRYS REAL NAME IS HENRY?"
Indeed, the prince's full nameâHenry Charles Albert Davidâappears on official documents, including his children's birth certificates. Unlike average citizens, members of the Royal Family donât stick to one standard surname; 'Wales' was Harry's go-to surname for a while before he adopted Sussex and Mountbatten-Windsor.
The Duke himself has had a bit of a laugh about his name confusion. At the WellChild Awards earlier this year, he joked: "My name is Henry, but everyone calls me Harry. I have no idea."
Then as Harry â or should we say Henry â marked the one-year countdown to the 2025 Invictus Games last year, he paid homage to the sportsmen and women involved and made a quip about the Games returning to Canada, mentioning: "There's a reason the Invictus Games have come back to Canada, because you guys have snow! ".
He went on to praise the participants by saying: "I know how much you love to serve, in many instances you live to serve, so we all continue to give you the opportunity to serve and inspire people from around the world."
Harry also gave a heartfelt shout-out to the organising gurus and Canadian government support at all levels. He emphasised: "It is one of the most incredible things. I am so grateful is the entire organizing committee and the government-every single level, here in Canada, for making this, we couldn't have done this without support right from the get-go."
The couples enjoyed a meal at a French restaurant Friday night, just two days before the Chiefs face off against the Philadelphia Eagles for the big game.
