The struggle, while unfortunate, has had a positive effect on their relationship, and now, the married pair's communication is stronger than ever. Â
An insider told People that the royal spouses have a "more open" relationship with each other now and are willing to "talk about their relationship together." The outlet noted that "the difficult period has brought a newfound depth to their relationship, revealing an unprecedented level of openness in their expressions of love for each other."

Royal biographer Ingrid Seward explained that going through cancer as a family has likely made William more appreciative of Middleton, and has driven him to show his support and love for her in more public ways recently (see: his touching birthday post for Middleton's recent birthday).

"William must feel so fortunate that Kate has come through this that he wants to tell the world about that love. It shows the intimacy of them sharing that journey together," Seward told the outlet. "They are able to express themselves in a way they would never have done before."
