Princess Tatiana breaks her silence after her ex-husband Prince Nikolaos tied the knot with Chrysà Vardinogiánni (but how is she following in the footsteps of the Princess of Wales?)
Prince Nikolaos walked down the aisle just ten months after divorcing his wife of 14 years. Now, for the first time since the royal wedding, Princess Tatiana has spoken out

All eyes have been on Prince Nikolaos of Greece and Chrysà Vardinogiánni this week, as the pair bask in the glow of their royal wedding last Friday. Now though, Princess Tatiana, the ex-wife of the so-called âPlayboy Princeâ, has spoken out for the first time since the big day.
Princess Tatiana has been candid about the difficulties she has faced since splitting from her husband of fourteen years in 2024 and watching him get married just ten months after their divorce. As Valentineâs Day approaches, however, the 44-year-old is embracing optimism.
In a heartfelt new statement, shared over Instagram, the Princess has revealed her plans for the future â thanking her followers and fans for their kindness and support as she sets her sights on a new business empire⦠with a notable link to the Princess of Wales.

âI can't start this post without saying thank you to this incredible community,â Tatiana began. âTo everyone who has made me feel at home, strong, and supportedâYOU. My heart is full of gratitude.â
She then revealed that, despite her previous feelings of alienation in her adopted home country, she would remain in Greece following her ex-husbandâs re-marriage, writing: âWhen people ask if I will continue to live in Greece, my answer has never been more of a YES. Because of you. Thank you for opening your doors, your hearts & your homes. Your kindness and support mean everything.â
While no one would blame her for feeling somewhat deflated as the world celebrated Prince Nikolaosâ new royal wedding, Tatiana called the past few weeks âan adventure â full of change, growth, and exciting new opportunitiesâ.
Indeed, with this new era comes a new abode, as the Princess shared photos of her moving house, surrounded by packing boxes and all the impedimenta of a fresh start.
She also announced a new business partnership with NBA player Kevin Love â and this new project has fans drawing parallels between the Greek royal and the Princess of Wales. Tatianaâs mental health movement, Breathe, which was inspired by her fatherâs battle with depression, is working with Love to âbring social and emotional learning tools to Greeceâ.

Developing emotional and social intelligence is also a cause close to the heart of Kate Middleton. Earlier this month, The Princess of Walesâs Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood published the âShaping Us Frameworkâ, which called for increased awareness of our âsocial and emotional skillsâ to combat âmistrust and misunderstandingâ.
In a foreword to the framework, the mother-of-three rallied readers to âbuild a more loving, empathetic, and compassionate society together,â through increased focus on interpersonal skills, which Catherine called the âbedrock of any healthy, happy societyâ.
Itâs not the only parallel between the two royal women. Both Princess Tatiana and the Princess of Wales have spoken out about the importance of optimism in the wake of what proved to be a challenging 2024.
In a candid New Yearâs message shared to her Instagram account alongside a stripped-back portrait, the erstwhile daughter-in-law of Queen Anne-Marie and King Constantine II told followers to âwelcome more light into their lives, channelling hope and compassion after a year that not only saw her divorce her husband but also deal with the news that her stepbrother had been reported missing.
âLive with determination, peace and passion,â she wrote, âunderstanding that even in the darkest moments, we can be the light for others, just as they have been for us.â
Princess Tatianaâs address, with its references to resilience and empathy, has strong echoes of the Christmas message penned by Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, at the end of last year. Catherine reassured the public that âlove is the light that can shine bright, even in our darkest times,â while Princess Tatiana also remarked that âin times of joy and sadness,â she wrote, âwe are all each otherâs lights.â

When Prince Nikolaos and Chrysà Vardinogiánni tied the knot on Friday, there was yet another significant echo. The new Greek princess walked down the aisle wearing the Antique Corsage tiara â a treasured heirloom of Nikolaosâ mother, Queen Anne Marie. Itâs the same tiara that Princess Tatiana wore when she married into the Greek royal family. Ditto Crown Princess Marie-Chantal and Princess Nina.
A changing of the guard among the gilded Greeks, then, but Princess Tatiana is adamant that adversity has been her âdeepest strengthâ. Speaking to Tovima in an interview conducted before the Prince's new engagement was announced (though rumours had been spiralling since Nikolaos and Chrysà went hand-in-hand to Princess Theodoraâs wedding in September), she said:
'Through these challenges, I understood that while we cannot control what happens to us, we can choose how we react. I move forward with hope, knowing that even in the darkest moments there is always light and the opportunity to grow.
âLifeâs challenges remind me how important it is to endure, to hope, to have faith in the power of the human spirit.â
