Record Store Day has announced Post Malone as the ambassador for the 2025 instalment.
The annual event is set to return for its 18th edition later this year, with the 2025 event due to take place on April 12.
It’ll see over 270 independent record shops across the UK – as well as thousands more globally – welcome a new wave of vinyl releases, including one-off LPs and limited-edition special versions of past releases. As ever, there will also be a wide variety of in-store parties and a celebration of independent record store culture.
Now, in the latest update ahead of RSD 2025, organisers have confirmed that Post Malone will be taking on the role as ambassador for this year.

“What an honour, I can’t believe I was chosen to be Record Store Day’s Ambassador for 2025,” he said in a new statement. “Record Store Day is so important and I really hope to do my part to keep it alive.”
“We love hitting local shops when we’re on the road, seeing all the crazy artwork, the whole energy in a record store is just super inspiring. I feel at home. It’s really an unexplainable feeling to hit up a shop and dig through crates, just see what grabs your eye,” he added.

“You can be looking for something super specific and end up finding something totally different. It’s the best,” he concluded. “Keep supporting y’all and let’s keep records and these local shops going strong. Happy Record Store Day everybody!”
With the new confirmation, Posty will follow in the footsteps of previous ambassadors like St. Vincent, Taylor Swift, Elton John, Noel Gallagher, The 1975 and Dave Grohl. Last year saw two huge names take on the title: Paramore and Kate Bush.
Returning brands working with RSD include rosé wine company Studio by Miraval and British loudspeaker and headphone company Bowers & Wilkins. A new brand joining the event will be Cheltenham-based DEYA Brewing Company, which is releasing a limited-edition drink to celebrate the day.
More details about activities and events planned for the 2025 instalment are set to be shared at a later date.

Last year’s edition of Record Store Day was held on April 20 and saw releases from The 1975, David Bowie, Daft Punk, Talking Heads, Paramore, Blur, Lily Allen, Gorillaz, Elton John, Paramore and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.
It also took place amid news that vinyl sales had risen by nearly 15 per cent in the first nine months of 2023, despite the ongoing dominance of streaming services.
In April, Post Malone will headline both weekends of Coachella alongside Lady Gaga and Green Day. Following the Coachella stint, Posty is due to kick off a North American stadium tour between late April and early July. For the stadium dates, he will be joined by guests Jelly Roll and singer-songwriter Sierra Ferrell. Tickets for Post Malone’s stadium tour are on sale now, you can get yours here.
Post Malone’s latest album ‘F-1 Trillion’ arrived in August, and it follows on from his fifth studio album ‘Austin‘, which was released in 2023. ‘F-1 Trillion’ saw collaborations with the likes of Dolly Parton, Tim McGraw, and Luke Combs.
