Red Velvet’s Irene Tops iTunes Charts + Achieves Highest 1st-Week Sales Of Any Female SM Soloist In Just 1 Day
Red Velvet’s Irene is sweeping iTunes charts all over the world with her solo debut album!
On November 26 at 6 p.m. KST, Irene made her long-awaited solo debut with her first mini album “Like A Flower” and its title track of the same name. Immediately upon its release, the album soared to the top of iTunes charts in numerous countries around the world.
By the morning of November 27 KST, “Like A Flower” had already hit No. 1 on iTunes Top Albums charts in at least 21 different regions, including New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Finland, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Brazil, Egypt, Oman, Chile, Guatemala, Brunei, El Salvador, Paraguay, Turkey, Cambodia, and the Philippines.
Additionally, “Like A Flower” topped QQ Music’s digital album sales chart in China, while tracks from the mini album swept the top three spots on AWA’s realtime rising chart in Japan.
Irene also managed to achieve the highest first-week sales of any female soloist from SM Entertainment in Hanteo history within just one day. According to Hanteo Chart, “Like A Flower” sold an impressive total of 250,063 copies on just its first day of sales alone.
With six days still left to go in the week, it remains to be seen how much higher Irene’s first-week record will climb.
