Renée Zellweger's Houndstooth Dress Had an Unexpected Asymmetric Peplum Detail
Renée Zellweger wore another one-shoulder dress to the 'Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy' screening in Amsterdam on February 3. See the asymmetric houndstooth dress, here.
After taking a six-year break from acting, Renée Zellweger is back in the spotlight with a return to the beloved Bridget Jones franchise. As the Judy actress promotes her return to the role as the titular character in Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy alongside her longtime co-star Hugh Grant, she’s been stepping out in a parade of red carpet looks–and showing her love for a one-shoulder style moment. Just days after putting a sophisticated twist on the naked dress trend, Zellweger wore an asymmetrical houndstooth dress that highlighted the quintessentially English print.
While posing on the red carpet at a Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy screening in Amsterdam on February 3, Zellweger leaned into her character’s British roots with the distinct black-and-white printed tweed. As she waved to onlookers and took selfies with fans, the Chicago star showed off the dress’s draped fabric draped shoulder, button-up bodice, one-sided peplum-style ruched pocket, and tea-length hemline.

Zellweger showed off her one-shoulder neckline by wearing her blonde extensions in a romantic messy updo with a middle part and face-framing pieces. Black pointy-toed high heels and a soft beauty look with rose-hued blush, black eyeliner, and glowing skin completed the actress’s red carpet transformation.

The star posed alongside actor Chiwetel Ejiofor and director Michael Morris ahead of the screening, but her boyfriend Ant Anstead didn’t make an appearance at Monday’s event. Just days earlier, the couple stepped out for a rare date night appearance, holding hands as they headed to a Bridget Jones after-party. During the premiere last week, Zellweger wore a Barbie pink strapless satin dress–a Pierre Balmain creation from the designer's fall 2000 haute couture archive–with a very Y2K blonde side ponytail.
