Renee Zellweger sparks engagement rumours at Bridget Jones premiere
Renee Zellweger, Hugh Grant and a number of other stars were out in London on Wednesday evening to celebrate the premiere of the new Bridget Jones movie
Renee Zellweger and Hugh Grant and were among the stars of Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy celebrating the movie's London premiere on Wednesday night (29 January) before heading off to an exclusive after party. At the start of the evening, Hugh walked the pink carpet hand in hand with his wife, Anna Elisabet Eberstein, who looked chic in a beautiful ivory beaded mini dress, while Hugh looked stylish in a timeless suit and white shirt, which he wore open and without a tie.
Meanwhile, the Bridget Jones star, Renee Zellweger, arrived without her partner Ant Anstead, but the couple were reunited at the after party later in the evening. Renee stunned in a fuchsia pink satin dress with a train, but many people were distracted by an unusual accessory â two plasters on her ring finger.

Fans speculated that Renee was either hiding an engagement ring, or perhaps the impression of one if she had taken it off for the evening, even though the plasters were more over her knuckle than at the base of her finger.
Other celebrities in Leicester Square for the premiere included Chiwetel Ejiofor and Leo Woodall, who also appear in the movie, Isla Fisher, Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo, Beverly Knight and Jessie Ware.
Following the premiere, the action then moved to an after party at Brasserie Zedel in Piccadilly. While Ant Anstead missed out on the movie, he was spotted â dressed in a sharp three piece grey suit â leaving the party holding Renee's hand.

Renee and Ant have been inseparable since their 2021 romance took off, with both settled near San Diego, as per Renee's chat with Vogue about her up-and-coming film: "I live in Southern California, near San Diego, because that's where my fellow lives, and his little boy," hinting at Ant's son Hudson from his past marriage to Christina Haack.
Amid the whispers of an engagement for the pair, a source confided to The Sun just this year: "Renee and Ant are keeping their plans incredibly private, they're not planning a big public announcement. She has been telling her inner circle about organizing their nuptials. Everything will be very low-key. Her relationship with Ant is super strong and they're madly in love, and they can't wait to get hitched," reports the Mirror.

Meanwhile, Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy hits our screens as the fourth instalment, bringing us more than two decades on from the original Bridget Jones's Diary.
Finding herself a single mum-of-two following the death of Mark Darcy (played by Colin Firth), Bridget is on a fresh quest for romance â this time round her suitors include married teacher Mr Wallaker (Chiwetel Ejiofor) and twentysomething Roxster (Leo Woodall). Plus, Hugh makes a comeback as the ever-charming rascal, Daniel Cleaver.
Renee was beaming with excitement at the movie premiere, gushing over her comeback as Bridget after a break since Bridget Jones's Baby in 2016. She shared her deep affection for her character, saying, "She feels like an old friend to me," and when prodded about another sequel, she responded with a hopeful gesture, exclaiming, "It is the best job in the world!"
