Rod Stewart, Penny Lancaster, Alan Titchmarsh meet King Charles
King Charles and Alan Titchmarsh were joined by Sir Rod Stewart and his wife Penny Lancaster, the newest ambassadors for The King's Foundation.
Sir Rod Stewart shared a light-hearted moment with King Charles during an event to kick off the 35th-anniversary celebrations of his charity at Dumfries House, where Sir Rod and his wife Penny Lancaster were unveiled as the newest ambassadors for The King's Foundation.
Of their new appointment, the Maggie May hitmaker, 80, said: "We are so pleased to be coming on board as ambassadors for The King's Foundation and look forward to lending our support to this worthwhile cause, particularly during such a significant year for the charity."
At the launch in East Ayrshire, they, alongside gardening guru Alan Titchmarsh, another ambassador, admired items for a time capsule all set to showcase the foundation's lasting impact.
The organisation, originally known as the Prince of Wales's Institute of Architecture and founded by Charles in 1990, is dedicated to fostering sustainable communities and transforming lives.
Over the course of the year, the charity will collect items which people feel represent the achievements and legacy of the foundation, and it will then be buried on the Dumfries House estate and opened in 100 years.
Before King Charles entered the room, Sir Rod had jokingly pretended he was preparing to throw his watch into the empty box.
He then pretended to cower as Charles picked up his secateurs to place them in the capsule, to the King's amusement. Charles then put in his personal letter, saying "I'll bury this at the bottom".
