Russell Brand is expected in court on May 2 to address sexual assault and rape charges in London. His current legal troubles are linked to his time in the United Kingdom in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Still, Brand once unknowingly associated himself with a completely different sexual assault scandal stateside. Brand disclosed his connection to Sean âDiddyâ Combs and his attendance at the disgraced rapperâs infamous parties before completely changing his tune.
Russell Brand has his own sexual assault scandal to deal with at the moment. He is connected to Sean âDiddyâ Combsâ sex scandal in a roundabout way. While Brand hasnât been named in any of the lawsuits filed against Combs, he did once place himself at a Diddy party and defended his decision to attend.
In 2010, Brand said that Diddy âforced himâ to vacation with him in Las Vegas. He claimed that he wasnât totally into attending any of Diddyâs parties because he didnât want to feel like he âowedâ someone powerful anything. Still, Brand went. He said he spent time with the music mogul because âyou canât say âno'â to someone like Diddy. The specific party that Brand attended has not been named in any Diddy suit that we know of.
Russell Brand and Sean âDiddyâ Combs worked together on Get Him to the Greek. The movie was released in 2010 as a spinoff of Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Critics consider Forgetting Sarah Marshall Brandâs breakout movie role.
While Russell Brand once defended his decision to party with Diddy, he attempted to distance himself from the more nefarious activities that went on at Diddyâs events once the scandal broke. In December 2024, Brand took to social media to recall his time at one of the rapperâs infamous white parties. Diddy was charged in September 2024.
In a clip shared on Instagram, Brand said that he attended one of Sean âDiddyâ Combsâ white parties. He insisted he spent most of the event chatting with Tom Green before heading home early in the evening, though. Brand said he was happy he had left the party prematurely because he was ânot qualifiedâ to âhandleâ the activities that allegedly transpired at the infamous parties. Brand said he was trying to get âcloser to Godâ and was happy he avoided Diddyâs late-night festivities.
