Rylan Clark reveals he lost a stone after taking on role away from BBC Radio 2
Rylan Clark returned to BBC Radio 2 this weekend after taking some time off over the festive period while he starred in Jack and the Beanstalk at Cliff Pavilion.
Rylan Clark revealed he lost a stone after taking on a new project away from BBC Radio 2.
The 36-year-old returned to his Saturday afternoon show at the weekend after taking a break over the festive period. While away, Rylan performed in the Jack and the Beanstalk pantomime at Southend Cliff Pavilion.
The star said he had ânever done anythingâ like panto before. Although Radio 2 journalist Sally Boazman reassured Rylan he was âbrilliantâ and an âabsolute naturalâ.

He said: âIâve never done anything like that before. Iâve done a stone, my belly, flat as a pancake.â
Sally added: âI think you look great at the moment. I said to you earlier that you look really good. Itâs because youâve got that pinched look.â

Rylan explained it was a âpost-show glowâ. The star said: âCinched in at the sides, thatâs me at the minute. Thatâs what itâs called, you cinch it around the waist.â
After finishing his stint on the stage, Rylan said he jetted off to Spain as part of his next project. Although, it wasnât all work for Rylan who took mum Linda along as well.
Former X Factor star Rylan returned to the stage alongside comedian and panto favourite Aaron James, who played the role of Silly Simon, actor Neal Wright, whose credits include West End shows such as Mamma Mia! and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Nic Greenshields, who most recently appeared as the Lion in the Wizard of Oz. The castâs final performance was on January 5.
After the curtain came down, Rylan took to social media to share a picture of the cast and crew. He shared a snap on his Instagram stories, writing: âTo this amazing lot, thanks for an amazing few weeks."
In a follow-up post, the star wrote: âAnd just like that... The show was over. Thank you everyone who came to see the show. Truly has been a pleasure. And thank you everyone who worked on the show."
Rylan told Radio 2 listeners he had a few days off after the weekend. It comes as the star has shown no signs of slowing down in recent weeks, having appeared on BBC Two alongside Rob Rinder in their first ever travel series, hosted a new Paramount+ show, Dating Naked UK, and Amazon Prime reality series, Hot Mess Summer.
