SAG Awards 2025: Jodie Foster’s 26-Year-Old Son Charlie Makes Rare Appearance as Her Date - E! Online
True Detective: Night Country actress Jodie Foster brought her older son, Charles "Charlie" Bernard Foster, 26, with her as her date to the 2025 SAG Awards.

It was a family affair for Jodie Foster at the 2025 SAG Awards.
The actress—who was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a TV Movie or Limited Series for her performance in True Detective: Night Country—stepped out for the star-studded event with her son Charles "Charlie" Bernard Foster, 26, by her side.
The duo was all smiles during their rare mother-son outing, with Jodie—who shares Charlie and his younger brother Christopher "Kit" Bernard Foster, 23, with ex Cydney Bernard—rocking a chic maroon dress and her actor son opting for a classic black tuxedo.
While their SAG Awards outing made for a rare public appearance for Charlie, his Oscar-winning mom did give him and his brother a shoutout when she won a Golden Globe back in January.
"I just want to thank my family," Jodie said in her acceptance speech after winning for her True Detective performance. "Because Kit, my scientist son, and Charlie, my actor son who's starting his career, hopefully you understand the joy, such joy, that comes from doing really hard, meaningful, good work. So my boys, I love you, and this, of course, is for you."

While her older son has similar acting aspirations as his mother, the Panic Room actress—who also thanked her wife of 11 years, Alexandra Hedison, at the Globes—had kept the nature of her career hidden from her sons for as long as she could.
"I guess I just didn't want them to know me that way," she explained on The View in January 2024. "I wanted them to know me as their mom and the person who went away to work and stuff."

Jodie added, "I just didn't want them to be confused about what I did for a living."
In fact, the 62-year-old kept her profession such a secret that Charlie actually thought that she had a completely different career.
"I brought him to set one day and I bought him a little plastic tool belt and stuff," Jodie shared. "And I was like, ‘Yeah, and this is this set and this set and this set.' And for a really long time, he thought I was a construction worker."
