Sam Heughan says there's a 'gap in his life' as fans prepare for Outlander end
Outlander star Sam Heughan admitted there's been a void left in his life following the end of his stint as Jamie Fraser.
Sam Heughan has admitted there's a "huge gap" in his life after filming for Outlander finally came to an end, and he said goodbye to playing character Jamie Fraser.
The Scottish acting star joined American television host and comedian Jimmy Fallon for a sit down chat about the historical romance drama, which was based on Diana Gabaldon's best-selling book franchise.
Fans are already mourning the loss of their Outlander fix, which is set to come to a dramatic end with the eighth and final season very soon.
"After 11 years and 101 episodes," Sam highlighted before an applause from the audience and Jimmy Fallon. "I suppose it's emotional, you know bittersweet?," he probed the actor.
Sam responded, "Honestly I think the last year has been emotional. It's been a real rollercoaster and I think there's a huge gap in my life from that show."

He continued, "But it's been incredible. The friends I've made, the cast and crew it's like family. You spend all your time with these people and how do you end something like that?"
Jimmy then quizzed the Scottish actor if he took anything from his time on the show. "I was going to steal a lot of s***," Sam hilariously admitted.

"They actually gifted me my kilt, my jerkin. I always had my eye on it and I said to myself 'I'm going to steal this on the last day.' I think they knew, and well guessed, that I was going to go for it."
American host Jimmy was left baffled as he asked what a Jerkin was. "You all know what that is right? you wear it in when you're cold, it's a British thing, a period jacket" Sam added smiling.

"Nothing wrong with the Jerkin," Jimmy added as he attempted to cover up his blunder. "I'll get you one next time I come on," Sam joked back.
Sam also added that he got to keep his ginger wig from filming the show and his boots. "It's all sitting in my house, so if I ever have a little Jamie Fraser in my life it would be like Superman or something."
Outlander fans are dreading the end of the show, as Sam teased there's a 'huge cliffhanger' in the second half of series 7.
