Saturday Kitchen: Ben Miller apologises for late arrival
Saturday Kitchen had viewers setting their alarms a bit earlier today, as the show kicked off at 9:30am on 15th March, leading to a slightly tardy arrival from this week's special guest.
Actor and writer Ben Miller was the star turn on the programme, but host Matt Tebbutt couldn't give him the usual grand introduction at the start due to his late appearance.
Miller, who was there to chat about his latest children's book, was gently ribbed by Tebbutt for having many skills, yet "setting his alarm clock" apparently wasn't among them.
When the Bridgerton actor did make it to the studio, just a couple of minutes behind schedule, he reeled off a list of excuses before facing the camera to say sorry to those watching at home.

The earlier time slot was flagged up by Tebbutt last week, which also meant an early wrap for BBC Breakfast. Saturday Kitchen wrapped up at 11am to clear the decks for Football Focus, with the Women's League Cup Final between Chelsea and Manchester City set to start at 11:45am, reports the Express.
But it seems it wasn't only the change in routine that threw Miller off course this morning as he attempted to justify why he was late.
"Bet you haven't done that walk of shame for a while!" Tebbutt jested as Miller entered the set.
"I have excuses if you want to hear them," Miller shot back.
Wine expert Ollie Smith chimed in with a cheeky "Was it a lovely sleep?" to which Miller humorously admitted, "It was wonderful.
"I had too many very strong tonic waters," Miller confessed, prompting Tebbutt to cheerfully respond, "Good for you!"

Miller candidly offered his true reason for the blunder: "No, I don't drink. Honestly, that's not the reason. I have jet lag. Honestly, I've got as many excuses as you like. My alarm didn't go off!"
His humour elicited a playful response from Smith, who quipped, "Did the peacock eat your homework as well?" to which Miller retorted: "Yeah, the dog ate my homework, too."
The relief was tangible as the guest voiced his comfort at finally making it to the studio, eagerly reaching for a cup of coffee.
Addressing the snafu directly, he turned towards the camera and with a sheepish grin, compensated with an earnest: "I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry."
Saturday Kitchen airs Saturdays from 10am on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
