Saturday Kitchen’s Matt Tebbutt admits 'I’m struggling' after on air 'blunder'
On the most recent instalment of Saturday Kitchen, host Matt Tebbutt welcomed broadcaster Stacey Dooley onto the BBC show.
BBC star Matt Tebbutt found himself a little tongue-tied during the most recent instalment of his show. As Saturday Kitchen kicked off, he introduced viewers to their guest on the show Stacey Dooley on Saturday morning (March 22).
Addressing his guest, Matt said: “Stacey, as you know, you’ve been here before, food- foo-fu-” As he struggled to string his words together, Stacey and Helen McGinn burst out laughing.
Matt put his hands over his face in embarrassment, the BBC star looked at the camera and said he’d try again. Poking fun over his blunder, Helen asked: “Have you done this before?”
Trying to move on, he repeated the sentence, commenting: “Now, Stacey. You’ve-” However, he fumbled his words for a second time as the cast and crew were in hysterics over the mishap.
He yelled: “I’m struggling! Food heaven, food hell at the end of the show, what’s setting your world on fire?!”
Although Stacey couldn’t help but highlight his blunder as she replied: “You’ve been on the wine already.” When it came to her food heaven, she told the BBC host she was enjoying salty food with capers, anchovies and tomatoes.
In terms of her food hell, the 38-year-old confessed it would be pork. She told Matt: “I’m not in my pork era.
“I’m not eating loads of meat at the minute. I’m not a vegetarian, but I’m not eating a lot of meat. Anything that I’m sort of chewing and chewing and chewing, I think, ‘I’ve got things to do!’”
As the show came to an end, it was time for Matt to reveal what the viewers had chosen for Stacey to eat. In the end, she discovered BBC fans had chosen her hell option, as they had done during her previous time on the show.
However, Matt was thrilled with the decision as he confessed it was easier for him to do.
Revealing the stats, he told Stacey 56 per cent of people chose her hell option. She replied: “It was quite close!"
When it came to Stacey trying the food, it was clear she was less than impressed. Matt asked: "You happy?"
Putting a piece of pork into her mouth, she replied: "I'm grateful." Although Matt took no offence, he laughed at her response.
