The Masked Singer has revealed another star behind the mask after Bush was booted off the show in the semi final’s second elimination on Saturday night.
The semi final began with five characters battling it out for just three places in the final on Saturday 15 February. Bush, Dressed Crab, Wolf, Pufferfish and Bear all sang for the audience and judges. Bear was first to be eliminated and revealed to be Example, and then Bush became the second star of the night who had to remove their mask. Judges Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall and Maya Jama watched as Bush was revealed to be Natalie Cassidy who had raised the roof with their versions of ABBA's Thank You For The Music and Lisa Loeb's Stay earlier in the evening.
There are now just three celebrities left to be unmasked during the final next week. The ultimate champion of the show will be in prestigious company, as the previous winners have included former Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts, singer Joss Stone, pop star Natalie Imbruglia, Busted’s Charlie Simpson and last year’s champ, McFly’s Danny Jones.
Danny, who was also crowned King of the Jungle on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2024, won The Masked Singer dressed as Pirhana. Upon winning, he said: "I’ve had the most amazing time, I can escape behind here and just be Piranha and sing these songs. I’ve learnt so much, I’m able to sing higher now just from being on this show. I am so happy, thank you!"
He continued: "It feels surreal. Everything about this show and everything about what I've just done is completely surreal! I have become a Piranha, and no longer Danny Jones!"
Danny Jones won The Masked Singer last yearHe also talked about how difficult it was keeping it a secret: "Very hard and even more so now I’ve won. It's been really difficult because I get excited by stuff very easily and I'm all in when I do something. I'm meant to be on tour. It's been very difficult, but that’s part of the fun, isn’t it?"
Immediately after the show was broadcast, Danny took to Instagram to share a clip of his son Cooper Alf Jones watching the show. The youngster had no idea his dad was behind the costume and was amazed at the reveal, with proud dad Danny sharing the reaction online. In the clip, an excited Cooper shouts: "It's daddy!" as Danny is unmasked, before jumping on his laughing dad, adding: "It's you, it's you!" Danny also shared a sweet video of him and Cooper shouting: "Champion, champion!"
Fans of The Masked Singer are hoping Danny will make a return to the stage for the final next week. He is expected to appear as a guest judge, but viewers have speculated on social media that he may join in for a duet with one of the remaining celebrities.
