Sex and the City star Kristin Davis, 59, has shared a dating horror story which resulted in her being thousands of dollars out of pocket.
The actress, who rose to fame playing Charlotte York on the show, recalled being ghosted after lending money to an actor - who went on to become very successful. Kristin couldnât remember exactly when the actor cut and run but said that it was around the time of SATC or her work on Melrose Place two to three decades ago.
Kristin shared the tale on her podcast Are You a Charlotte, speaking to guest Sarah Wynter. She described: âI did one time date this out-of-work actor. I think this was before Sex and the City, maybe between Melrose and Sex and the City, or maybe when I was on Melrose. I donât know."
Kristin wouldn't say who the actor was, but said he was now 'successful' and lived in the country with kidsThe HBO star kept the identity of the man a secret, but did note that heâs ânow very successful". She added: âHe was very talented. But, at the time, I had money because Iâd been working, and I was at his house and he had all of these, âyour electricityâs gonna be turned off,â like all those notices that you get when you canât pay your bills. They were all just all over his house, right?
âAnd I was like, âWhatâs happening?â And then I think he wrecked his motorcycle, which is like how he got around town to his auditions. And I was like, âCan I lend you some money?ââ
Kristin described the offer as âa horrible mistake" and warned her fans: âAnyone listening, do not lend anyone money that you are dating. Do not do it. It doesnât end well. It really irked me.â
Soon after she gave the money, it âchanged the dynamicâ of her relationship âin a really horrible way", with Kristin sharing: âIt was kind of a casual thing. I probably shouldâve known better,â said Davis. âBut I just felt like, âI can help. I should help this guy. Heâs so talented,â which he is.â
She then outlined: âI lend him money. I think it was all of $5000. So I lent him this money and then he stops calling. Iâm like, âWhat the heck?ââ
Shockingly, the actress shared that she didn't learn her lesson the first time, and went through a similar experience again before not lending money to datesKristin shared how she didnât immediately let it go, and went to his apartment but he wouldnât answer the door. She remembered hearing his dog inside and wondering: ââIs he in there and pretending that he is not in there?ââ
She added: âAnd then later on, he called me and was like, âDid you come to my house and bang on my door?â And I was like, âWell, yes.â I felt so embarrassed, like I was being messy.â
After Sarah joked that Kristin should get her money back âwith interestâ now, Kristin admitted: âI just would love some acknowledgment or whatever, which is kind of a fantasy.â
Giving another tiny hint about his identity as she explained why she wouldnât be following up on the loan, she added: âHe lives out in the country with some children, so I donât think I want to show up there.â
Unfortunately, Kristin admitted that it took one more upsetting experience to learn not to mix romance and finance. âI canât say that was the last time I did it. I think the next time was the last time,â she said.

The NewJeans members have further spoken out against ADOR and HYBE and have appointed a legal representative.
On January 23, the members released the following statement:
Hello, this is Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein.
Through the media, we confirmed that ADOR has not only filed a lawsuit against us to âconfirm the validity of our exclusive contractsâ but has also applied for an injunction to preserve the agency's status and prohibit the signing of advertising contracts. We received the lawsuit and application documents a few days ago, and we have appointed Shin & Kim LLC as our legal representative.
Since ADOR and HYBE have appointed Kim & Chang as their legal representative, we believed it was necessary to have a law firm capable of responding to them. To address the rapidly progressing injunction, we felt that Shin & Kim, which is already familiar with the issues and wrongdoings of HYBE and ADOR, is the most suitable choice.
HYBE and ADOR have failed to fulfill their responsibilities as an agency to protect their artists and support their growth. Throughout our activities, we faced numerous obstacles, both big and small. They even disguised their intent to suspend our entertainment careers indefinitely as a long-term break, essentially abandoning and replacing us. Even after the lawful termination of our exclusive contracts, baseless criticism against us has been spread through the media and âcyber wreckerâ (Korean slang term referring to those who maliciously spread false rumors online) YouTube channels, much of which could only have been provided by ADOR and HYBE.
It is difficult not to conclude that ADOR and HYBE are at the center of all these issues.
While ADOR and HYBE publicly claim they want us to return, behind the scenes, they have continued to harass and attack us relentlessly, just as they did before. Recently, they even secretly met with some of our parents in an attempt to persuade or sow discord among us. Instead of resorting to underhanded tactics to defame, divide, and manipulate through false information and media play, we hope they will address the matter truthfully and fairly.
We will state this firmly. The five of us have no intention of ever returning to HYBE or ADOR, where even the minimum level of trust cannot be expected.
After the termination of our exclusive contracts, we wanted to conclude our remaining scheduled activities and agreements amicably and without conflict, and we hoped to avoid causing harm to the involved representatives. However, seeing ADOR and HYBE disregard such intentions and efforts and cause harm to us and others through improper means, we have decided to no longer remain silent.
Through legal procedures, we will clearly reveal the wrongdoings of ADOR and HYBE and fight confidently in court to bring the truth to light.
We feel apologetic for causing concern to our fans who cherish and love us. However, we will fight until the end through legitimate means so that we can share our music with you freely again as soon as possible. Please show lots of support. Thank you.
