Shopify have shut down Kanye West‘s Yeezy website after selling a Swastika t-shirt as the only product on the online shop.

Recently, the rapper – now known as Ye – had wiped his entire Yeezy site clean with only one listing made available: a white t-shirt with a large swastika on the chest listed as “HH-01”.

The garment was priced at $20, with the listing’s name of “HH-01” possibly a reference to the ‘Heil Hitler’ chant that would accompany Nazi gestures.

Today (February 11), Shopify – an e-commerce platform for online stores and retail POS systems – has deactivated the Yeezy website due to Ye violating its terms. The platform was used to powered the T-shirt store on the Yeezy website.

In a statement by a Shopify spokesperson made to CNN, they said that the “merchant did not engage in authentic commerce practices and violated our terms so we removed them.”

“All merchants are responsible for following the rules of our platform,” they added.

During the Superbowl this past weekend (February 10), Ye drove attention to the Yeezy website in a strange advertisement which aired during a commercial break during the annual league championship game of the National Football League of the United States.

The weird advertisement saw Ye being filmed while getting his teeth done: “I spent all the money for the commercial on these new teeth, so once again I had to shoot it on the iPhone. Um… go to Yeezy.com.”

Various musicians and actors have called out Ye for the offensive messages he is sending. American singer, songwriter and musician Matthew Koma took to his official Instagram account to share that he has made a t-shirt with the phrase “Fuck Ye” on the chest. “Hey I can make a shirt too – link in bio, all proceeds to the blue card holocaust survivor charity,’ read the caption of the post.

Charlie Puth also shared a message to Ye via Instagram Stories, begging him to stop promoting “incredibly dangerous” messages. Friends star David Schwimmer had also previously called on action to be taken against rapper for his hate-filled “Nazi” posts, arguing that “silence is complicity”.

The weekend saw the ‘Heartless’ hitmaker shared a series of bizarre and controversial tweets he posted on X/twitter before his account was deactivated. The rapper and fashion mogul launched a string of controversial posts that saw him withdraw his apology to the Jewish community for past anti-Semitic comments, as well as declaring himself as “a Nazi”.

He had also tweeted “I love Hitler”, praised billionaire and X-owner Elon Musk as “the most lit person that [has] ever been on Twitter” and claimed that all other people look up to him. Musk himself had drawn criticism and allegations of Nazism earlier this year when he made two Nazi-like gestures during Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration.

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) also spoke out about Ye’s offensive actions. The organization shared a tweet that read: “As if we needed further proof of Kanye’s antisemitism, he chose to put a single item for sale on his website – a t-shirt emblazoned with a swastika. The swastika is the symbol adopted by Hitler as the primary emblem of the Nazis. It galvanized his followers in the 20th century and continues to threaten and instill fear in those targeted by antisemitism and white supremacy.

“If that wasn’t enough, the t-shirt is labeled on Kanye’s website as “HH-01,” which is code for ‘Heil Hitler’.”

It continued: “Kanye was tweeting vile antisemitism nonstop since last week. There’s no excuse for this kind of behavior. Even worse, Kanye advertised his website during the Super Bowl, amplifying it beyond his already massive social media audience.”

Elsewhere, Prior to the release of the offensive t-shirt, the ‘Heartless’ hitmaker was also slammed for selling a hoodie seemingly identical to the one Cassie wore when disgraced rap mogul Diddy was captured on film assaulting her in 2016.

The ‘Carnival’ artist posted an image of what he dubbed the “LOVE HOODIE” side by side with a screenshot of footage from the incident. Obtained and published by CNN in March, the video appeared to show Diddy beating his former partner Cassie, and throwing an unidentified object at her from a nearby table.

The footage aligned with testimony the singer had previously given in a lawsuit filed against the rap mogul, in which she claimed Diddy “became extremely intoxicated and punched [her] in the face” at the hotel, then followed her into the hallway and throwing glass vases at her after she tried to leave when he was asleep.

In other news,  Ye recently revealed that he’s a fan of Kendrick Lamar‘s recent Super Bowl Halftime Show, calling it his “favourite” since Michael Jackson‘s iconic 1993 performance.
