Sir Rod Stewart says 'get me off the air now' during tipsy live TV interview

Sir Rod Stewart felt like he was 'embarrassing himself' as he gave a tipsy interview on live TV - but viewers thought it was 'magnificent'.
The You Wear It Well rocker had indulged in 'a couple' of drinks ahead of Celtic's Champions League match against Bayern Munich on Wednesday, February 12.
The 80-year-old, who often cheers on his beloved team from the stands, had pundits in fits of laughter as he spoke to TNT Sports ahead of the clash.

Speaking to the former Manchester United goalkeeper - who he later referred to as Gordan Banks - Sir Rod said: "I've had a couple," before adding: "You better get me off the air now. I'm embarrassing myself."
When Jamie Carragher asked Sir Rod if Celtic could win the clash, he replied: "Yeah, it could be a big night... Whatever happens, I'm so proud of this club, and I'm proud to be interviewed by Gordon Banks!"
Responding to Emma Dodds' question about how his day had been, the singer said: "It's been wonderful. I've had a couple of drinks as you can probably see. Wahey! Celtic is the love of my life apart from my wife and children. As long as we stay in the competition, as long as we don't get humped tonight."
An enthusiastic Sir Rod then went on to dance along to a chant from Celtic fans as his interview drew to a close, the Mirror reports.
The hilarious segment prompted a huge reaction on social media, with one Rangers fan saying: "I'm not Rod's biggest fan for obvious reasons but he was pretty funny there."
Another said: "Top man Rod," while another simply said: "Magnificent."

Someone else said: "Inject this interview into my veins. So good."
It was "one of the greatest pre game interviews in Champions League history", according to another X user.
"Drunk Rod Stewart on the CBS broadcast this is the best sports coverage on earth," exclaimed another.
