Some good news in store as Met Éireann issues Bank Holiday weekend weather update

According to Met Éireann's latest forecast, the dry weather is set to continue over the Bank Holiday weekend and we may even see a St Patrick's Day without rain - or at least a lot of it!
It looks like the sharp and cold temperatures are due to stick around, although as the weekend moves on the chill will ease somewhat.
Here's how the weekend forecast is looking.
Friday night will be a cold one with some clear spells and widespread frost as well as some icy patches. Some areas near the coast, however, will escape the frost. Temperatures will dip as low as -3 and +2 degrees with some patchy mist and fog forming.
Saturday will be off to a sunny, albeit frosty, start with any mist and fog gradually clearing. It will be a mainly dry day with the odd isolated shower here and there. There'll be lots of sunshine, although it will become more cloudy in the afternoon. There will still be a chill in the air with highest temperatures only reaching between 6 and 9 degrees.
It will continue to be dry into Saturday night with a mix of clear spells and cloud. There is a chance of frost developing in areas with clear skies. It will be slightly warmer on Saturday night with lowest temperatures of -1 to +4 degrees.

Sunday will enjoy slightly warmer temperatures of between 7 and 10 degrees. It will be a mostly dry day with sunny spells and some cloud. The east and the northeast will enjoy most of the sunshine on Sunday.
Like previous nights, Sunday night will be mainly dry with some patches of cloud. However, some light showers are expected to creep over eastern and southern coasts. The nightly temperatures will continue to pick up with lowest temperatures of 0 to 4 degrees.
There will be some light showers on Monday for St Patrick's Day, although luckily it will be a mostly dry day. It will be a cloudier day than those previous but the temperatures will remain between 7 and 10 degrees, although it may seem cooler in the easterly wind.
Monday night will be dry one with the odd chance of some showers near the southern coast. Lowest temperatures will range between 1 and 5 degrees.
The outlook for early next week so far looks good, with a breezy day expected on Tuesday but lots of sunshine also expected. Highest temperatures are anticipated to reach from 7 to 11 degrees.
