Stedman Pearson's life was filled with drama as he even suffered an alleged death threat from his father, years before he died aged 60.
The singer was part of 1980s group Five Star with his siblings after their father, musician Buster Pearson, decided to put his children's talents to use and form a band. They were often described as a British version of The Jackson Five due to their synchronised routines, costumes, and family links.
Away from the stage, Stedman had a wild life as he was once arrested and was allegedly threatened with a gun. When Five Star split, Stedman put his talents to good use and went on to have many different careers. His death was announced on Facebook by several of his friends, who shared their condolences. One friend wrote: "Very sad to hear about the passing of my friend Stedman Pearson. Gonna miss our chats dude. I have no words. I'm in complete shock." A second shared: "Rest in peace bro Stedman Pearson too young man."
"Woke up to learn of my friends passing....HE was one of the gentlest and lovely people I knew.. an awesome dancer with just a childlike zest for life.... You made a huge difference to my life and will be missed muchly!" said another. Here is a look at Stedman's dramatic life...

Mirrorpix)Death threatBack in 2007, police investigated claims of a threat to kill Stedman. His father Buster Pearson, who used to manage the group, was alleged to have told his oldest son that he had a gun and was planning to shoot him. The door of Stedman's home in Hammersmith, West London, was kicked down and he moved to a safe location.
A source close to the singer said at the time: "Sted is terrified. His father rang him on his mobile phone at lunchtime on Sunday and told him he had a gun and wanted to shoot him. Stedman is moving on with his life but his father finds that very difficult to handle and is basically a very angry man." A Metropolitan Police spokesman added: "We were notified on July 27 of an allegation of threats to kill. Officers from CID are investigating."
Different career pathsStedman worked at the band's costume designer during their heyday and following their split, he branched out into many different jobs. He ran a limousine hire service and also worked as a dance teacher. In 2006 he finished in third place on Channel 5's All Star Talent Show and two years later, he was a contestant on BBC's Celebrity Scissorhands. He also went into solo recording and remained heavily involved in the fashion world.
ArrestWhen Five Star first formed, the band were hit with reports of bankruptcy. In October 1990, Stedman was arrested for public indecency. Not much else is known on the incident, yet the group also struggles with their relationships following the split. In 2018, Lorraine claimed she was no longer friends with her sister Denise.
