Stephen Fry, 67, explains why he and husband, 36, haven't been seen together
Stephen Fry and Elliott Spencer have not been seen in public together for six years and the TV star has now explained why
Renowned actor and TV host Stephen Fry has shed light on why he and his husband Elliott Spencer prefer to keep a low profile, as the couple have not been spotted together in public for six years.
The 67 year old has been married to 36 year old Elliott since 2015, with the pair exchanging vows in a private ceremony in Dereham, Norfolk.

Since their union, the couple has made a conscious effort to maintain their relationship's privacy, seldom attending high-profile events or making public appearances together.
Their last joint public outing was six years ago, with the occasional exception of attending exclusive premieres or award shows.
In a rare glimpse into his personal life, Stephen discussed his marriage while recounting how he landed the hosting role for the UK adaptation of the iconic American game show Jeopardy!
‌
Having taken on the role in January last year, Stephen is currently hosting the show's second season. While sharing the story of his casting, Stephen offered a brief insight into his married life during an upcoming episode of The Jonathan Ross Show, set to air on Saturday night, reports the Mirror.
He recalled: "I was on The Morning Show [in the US]. I had dinner with my American agent, he said, 'What do you do when you're not called on set?' and I said, 'My husband and I, we don't go to Hollywood parties much, we have an early supper, watch Jeopardy! go to bed.'"
‌
He continued: "He inquired, 'Do you watch it in the UK?' I replied, 'We don't have it in the UK.' The conversation continued, and I thought nothing of it. Two weeks later, he rang and said: 'ITV London is thrilled you're going to do Jeopardy!'".
Earlier this year, Stephen, who rarely talks about his personal life in public, made a comment about his marriage. He shared an old photo from his wedding day and wrote a heartfelt tribute to his partner on social media.
‌
He posted: "Ten happy years to the day since we were joined in marriage. I'm a lucky man."
Last year, Stephen reflected on his own mortality during the Brave New World discussion, expressing why he wouldn't want to live beyond 100.
He remarked: "Personally, I'm not particularly interested in longevity for myself. I'm interested, as I think most people are, in the idea of an old age that is as pain-free as possible and where there isn't too much cognitive loss...
‌
"But I am not someone who wants to live longer than the rest of my friends... If everybody – my family and friends – lived into their 120s, then maybe I'd be quite happy to pass 100.
"But as it is, I would hate to be that lonely Flying Dutchman figure so beloved of history... The survivor, all of whose dependents and acquaintances have since died. I would find that deeply upsetting."
