Actor Stephen Fry didnât hold back when asked about US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Speaking on the BBCâs Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg show, he aired his complete disdain for the two politicians, telling Laura: "Iâm deeply worried by the darkening shadow spreading across the world, the shadow of what we have to call fascism.â
Describing it as a âcult of powerâ that only engages with other powers, he also claimed that Trump, like Putin, has âcontemptâ for British politicians, as well as French President Macron.
His comments come as President Trump - now one month into his second term - has courted controversy in recent weeks over his handling of peace talks with European leaders over Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
He notably parroted several of Vladimir Putin's positions last week, insisting Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky was a "dictator without elections" and that Ukraine started the conflict.

PA)He also stunningly claimed that he didn't think Zelensky being at the peace talks was "very important" . The President has been engaged in a war of words with Mr Zelensky since last week, when, following concerns voiced by the Ukrainian leader about the President being "living in a disinformation space".
In support of Ukraine, thousands of protesters marched on the Russian embassy in London on Saturday, while calling on the international community not to "betray Ukraine" amid fears the country is being frozen out of peace talks between Moscow and Trump.
A coalition of Ukrainian community and UK-based labour organisations attended the rally on Saturday calling for Russian troops to withdraw, ahead of the third anniversary of Putin's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Getty Images)Protesters at the march carried placards saying "Occupation is not Peace" and "Don't Betray Ukraine" behind a banner calling for "Russian Troops Out". The marchers, led by Ukrainian singers from the Hromada choir, assembled at a statue of St Volodymyr, a national saint of Ukraine, near Holland Park.
Earlier this week Donald Trump ratcheted up tensions over Ukraine while giving an interview to Fox News Radio, ranting that he was "tired" of hearing people say the war was the fault of Vladimir Putin.
Criticising Zelensky for his leadership as his country was destroyed by war, host Brian Kilmeade replied, âThatâs Putinâs fault,â to which Trump said: âI get tired of listening to it, Iâll tell you what.â
Trump continued complaining about Zelensky and said he âdoesnât think heâs very important to be at meetingsâ and that heâs been negotiating âwith no cards, and you get sick of it.â He said Putin wants to make a deal and added: âHe doesnât have to make a deal. Because if he wanted, he would get the whole country.â
