Streamers told to hire security after scary incidents with Valkyrae, Cinna & more on IRL streams
Calls for IRL streamers to hire personal security have heightened after an alarming incident involving a ‘stream sniper’ threatening Valkyrae, Cinna, and Emiru.
Calls for IRL streamers, particularly female streamers, to hire personal security, have heightened after an alarming incident involving a ‘stream sniper’ threatening Valkyrae, Cinna, and Emiru.
The three popular Twitch stars were out in public as part of their ‘sisathon’ streaming marathon, when a man approached them, and at one point lunged towards them, saying “I’ll kill you right now.” He had tracked their location using the broadcast, and earlier asked Emiru for her number, which she refused.
On the same night as this incident, another streamer, Amouranth, revealed her home was broken into by armed thieves, who held her at gunpoint and pistol-whipped her, demanding she pay them crypto.
Prominent figures in streaming have since expressed concern, and advocated for increased safety measures.
xChocoBars emphasizing the need for better protection for content creators, writing on X: “The police and security need to do more for women who get stalked. I’m sick and tired of this law where they can’t do anything until something HAPPENS.”
ChocoBars has been advocating for more action to be taken against stalkers targeting streamers for the better part of a decade, expressing fear that she may be killed by her stalker in 2020.
QTCinderella echoed these sentiments, highlighting the growing risks associated with public streaming, and recommended a security firm that streamers could employ. “I trust them with my life,” she said.
“There have been times where they have had to be with me 24/7. It could save your life, save their info.”

In a previous post, QT said that police were often not enough to deal with these situations. “You try to file a report, they tell you to do it online. You do it online and they reject it,” she said.
Esports commentator MonteCristo also weighed in, surprised that more streamers, especially those among the top earners “with millions of dollars”, who are at the highest risk due to their fame, do not hire private security. He described it as “mind-boggling.”
However, comedian Lew Spears said that “security is only an option for the top 1 percent who can afford it,” meaning most female streamers will not even attempt IRL broadcasts.
The use of security for streamers is far from new, though. In 2021, members of streaming org One True King (OTK) faced a similar situation when a stream sniper harassed them. Following that incident, OTK co-founder Asmongold revealed that the group was considering hiring security for future public broadcasts.
IShowSpeed, who almost always streams IRL now, has personal security at all times when in large crowds. It has come in handy too, such as when a crowd in Norway attacked him.
Additionally, content creators like Sweet Anita and Valkyrae have faced stalking incidents, prompting discussions about the need for personal security measures.
Companies like ‘Fast Guard Service’ have noted a surge in demand for private security from influencers across various platforms.
