Chris McCausland has revealed the moment Dianne Buswell 'kicked up a fuss' when it came to one of their Strictly Come Dancing performances.

There were emotional scenes back in December when the comedian and the professional won the 2024 series of the BBC One dance contest.

Chris, who was Strictly's first-ever blind contestant, and Dianne first met when they were paired together back in September, weeks before their first performance live in the show's iconic ballroom.

It was then 13 weeks later that Chris and Dianne, who joined the show back in 2017, were left in tears as they lifted the coveted Glitterball trophy after being their fellow finalists.

After their dancing journey came to an end, the emotional pair went their separate ways but weeks after, they confirmed their partnership wasn't really over as they reunited for a new podcast.

They titled their joint venture, Winning Isn't Everything, which was based on Dianne's dad Mark's comments to his daughter when she discovered her partner for her eighth year on the show.

A new episode has now been released and for the first time, the pair have got stuck into talking about their first ever performance on Strictly.

Fans will recall how Chris and Dianne took them back to the sixties with their flares, swing dresses and psychedelic as they performer a Cha Cha Cha to The Beatles hit, Twist and Shout.

Speaking in the new podcast episode, Chris revealed: "Originally we weren't going to do the Cha Cha Cha, They wanted us doing something else..."

But Dianne clarified: "We were always going to do the Cha Cha Cha, Chris but we weren't going to be doing that song." Chris asked Dianne to remind him which song they were going to perform to before she "kicked up a fuss".

Dianne admitted: "I did, I thought, 'Oh God here we go. The first dance and she's kicking up a fuss already,'" before confirming the song they had originally meant to dance to was Loco in Acapulco by The Four Tops.

But it left fans thinking about how different the performance could have been. @kathrynannebaddley said: "Did anyone immediately go to re watch the cha cha cha after this podcast and watched it in a slightly different way after this week's inside info from the studio and rehearsal room."

@h799 replied: "Yes, I did. I re watch them all often, but after this, I had to check it out again. I feel it could be a weekly thing." @whatsthebigwhoop24 added: "I loved the podcast as I always do. You both make me howl with laughter each and every episode. Well done @diannebuswell for sticking to your guns and getting that first dance changed to Twist and Shout. Oco Poco, just wouldn’t have been the same."
