Among the many stunning locations, one town stands out for its exceptional cherry blossom displays, Scottish Daily Express reported.
Helensburgh, known for its remarkable urban tree collection, is the only place in Scotland with its trees featured in the National Tree Collections of Scotland.
The town’s West Argyle Street is particularly popular, boasting a mile-long avenue lined with pink cherry trees. This scenic spot has become a favourite for photography enthusiasts, with couples even choosing it for wedding photos due to its picturesque setting.
Helensburgh’s charm extends beyond its famous West Argyle Street, with more stunning cherry trees found along Colquhoun Street, West Princes Street, John Street, and Lomond Street.
Meanwhile, Stafford Street and West King Street are graced by white cherry trees, adding to the beauty of this seaside town which overlooks the Firth of Clyde.
To help visitors explore the town’s blossoming delights, the Helensburgh Tree Conservation Trust has created a downloadable leaflet and map guide showcasing the town’s flowering trees.
The guide also highlights 24 notable buildings that can be admired while strolling through the tree-lined streets, whether during cherry blossom season or throughout the year.
For those travelling from Glasgow, reaching Helensburgh couldn’t be easier. The town is just under an hour’s drive away, or visitors can hop on a ScotRail train from Queen Street Station, with a quick 37-minute journey bringing them to this blossoming beauty spot.
In Edinburgh, Braidburn Valley Park provides a serene escape right in the city’s heart. With its expansive lawns, winding streams, and abundant trees, it’s a tranquil spot that’s about to be transformed by a blanket of blossoms.
Not far off, The Meadows offers ample opportunities for keen photographers to capture the beauty of the blossoming trees and flowers emerging in the spring.
