Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce entered Super Bowl LIX in style. Unfortunately, the Kansas City Chiefs couldnât get the job done. Swift and Kelce remain strong and supportive of each other despite the loss. However, a body language expert says the coupleâs pre-Super Bowl gestures might show that their relationship needs attention.
Taylor Swift headed to New Orleans to support Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX. Unfortunately for the Chiefs, the Philadelphia Eagles took a dominating lead from the start and held on tight. At one point in the evening, the crowd booed Swift when she appeared on the jumbotron, adding to her potentially soured mood. But even before the game began, celebrity body language expert Inbaal Honigman noted that Swift looked uncertain.
âAs she arrives at the stadium, still in her jacket, her lips are pressed together, her head slightly bowedâsigns that something may already be weighing on her mind,â Honigman told Lucy Parker, Digital PR Lead for Casino.ca.
âLater, as she stands and leans over a railing, her expression intensifies,â Honigman continued regarding Swift. âHer mouth is open, her eyes are wide, and her body language signals high tension. Her hands are clenched into fists, and her shoulders are raised to her ears â clear indicators of stress.â
Honigman noted that Swiftâs wide-eyed expression showed âheightened anxiety â possibly even fear.â The pop star mightâve been nervous about Kelceâs reaction to the Chiefs losing. âCould she be anticipating a difficult evening depending on his mood?â the expert questioned.
As for Kelceâs body language, he looked âsubduedâ and lacked confidence before and during the big game. âEven before the loss, he doesnât exude the energy of someone who feels secure and self-assured â even as a man in a high-profile relationship with a beloved public figure,â Honigman continued.
The body language expert noted that Kelce and Swift might be âfeeling the weight of their demanding careers,â both physically and emotionally. âHowever, their body language could also hint at a deeper issue, potentially signaling that their relationship may be in need of some urgent attention.â

When a reporter asked Kelce if he had plans to propose to Swift after the Super Bowl, Kelce answered, âWouldnât you like to know?â
In May 2024, a source told Us Weekly that Kelce didnât feel ready to get engaged to Swift just yet. âTravis has no plans on proposing to Taylor anytime soon,â the insider shared. âItâs not even on his radar. Marriage is something he takes very seriously and not something he would ever just jump into without giving it some careful consideration.â
Before Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs headed to the Super Bowl, they were on a powerful winning streak. And Taylor Swift was jumping for joy. On one such occasion, body language expert Judi James told DailyMail.com that Swift appeared possessive of Kelce.
According to James, Swift looked like âan over-excited fan, bouncing at his side and again holding him to gain his attention as she shows him her levels of excitement and joy at his win.â
âShe also places her hand onto Travisâs chest this time in a gesture of possession to show the world that her hero mate is âall mine,'â James continued.
However, Kelce didnât share this energy. âHis facial expression isnât mirroring Taylorâs open-mouthed smiles of delight and excitement, although his kiss with her does seem to register shared passion, and his kisses on her head look sweet,â James said. âHe quickly turns to his mother after kissing Taylor though, as though keen to share signals of love and affection out as evenly as possible.â
