Taylor Swift fan at Super Bowl goes viral for response to booing at singer
The pop singer looked stunned by the loud booing she received during the 59th Super Bowl, only for one fan to take a stand and show her support.
The Super Bowl LIX was a night to forget for Taylor Swift—not only did the Kansas City Chiefs lose, but she was loudly booed when her face appeared on the jumbo screen.
For over a year, the Grammy Award winning singer has been a frequent attendee at football games to support her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end. But it seems sports fans in the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, weren't too happy about the pop star watching the Chiefs face off against the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 59.
A clip circulating on X (formerly Twitter) shows the moment Swift, 35, appeared on the jumbo screen inside the stadium and a loud chorus of booing erupted. Understandably, Swift looked uncomfortable and confused by the reaction, as she seemingly mouthed, "What's going on?"
Many were astounded by the unexpected booing, leading to more than 2,100 comments on the X post.
One person commented: "Those haters, leave Taylor alone."
Another X user wrote: "Why did she get booed? I thought she was the sweetheart of America?"
Someone else added: "Wild. Not what I was expecting."
"The look on Taylor's face as she gets booed is priceless," commented one individual.
Fortunately, there was still some support inside the stadium for the musician, as one Swiftie made sure to get her message across. Following the loud booing, the Swiftie held her phone aloft to the cameras, with the message on the screen reading, "I love you Taylor."
A picture of the supportive message being shown on the jumbo screen was posted on X, gaining more than 752,900 views and over 100 comments at the time of writing.
Plenty of social media users have praised this particular fan for standing up in support of the singer, during what was otherwise a nightmare evening.
One comment on the X post reads: "that's so cute, I hope Taylor saw it."
Another person wrote: "Swifties never miss a moment."
"Pure love from the fans! Taylor always gets the most passionate crowd reactions," added one X user.
"YES! I know Taylor probably laughed off those boos but thank god somebody made it known that she has friends at the game," another commenter responded.
"Awwww that's so sweet of that person," reads one comment.

Swift watched the game with her longtime pals, rapper Ice Spice, stylist Ashley Avignone, and Alana Haim, Este Haim, and Danielle Haim (who form the all-female band, HAIM).
The booing has sparked plenty of online discussion, even with President Trump, who was the first sitting United States president to attend the Super Bowl, choosing to weigh in.
Posting on Truth Social after the game, Trump wrote: "The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!"
Several videos are also going viral comparing the moment when the president and his daughter, Ivanka Trump, were applauded and cheered inside the stadium, in a direct contrast to the reaction Swift received.
Newsweek has contacted the Caesars Superdome via email for comment.
