The Au Pair Channel 5 trailer
Fans of Channel 5's latest drama, The Au Pair, were quick to spot a gaffe in the show's second episode. The series, which airs nightly, follows the seemingly idyllic life of seamstress Zoe Dalton (Sally Bretton), who appears to have everything: a successful spouse Chris (Kenny Doughty), two lovely stepchildren, a booming tailoring business, and a stunning home in a beautiful English village.
The pair hire a new au pair, Sandrine (Ludmilla Makowski), to assist with Zoe's elderly father and the children. However, beneath the surface of Zoe's perfect existence, secrets begin to emerge, causing her life to spiral out of control.
As viewers eagerly watched The Au Pair, some couldn't help but notice a significant error in the second episode.

The mistake occurred when a pregnant Zoe, feeling ill, collapses and is rushed to the hospital for an emergency scan. Accompanied by Sandrine, Zoe undergoes an ultrasound while still wearing her hospital gownâa detail that did not go unnoticed by the audience.
The Express reports critics took to social media to question the scene's accuracy, with one viewer asking: "Has anyone EVER had a baby ultrasound scan done over clothing?".
Another stated: "Well I've seen a lot of implausible things on TV but someone having an ultrasound scan over the top of their clothes is a new one on me".
Adding to the chorus of confusion, a third viewer commented: "Aren't ultrasounds performed on the belly with no clothes in the way? This is so weird".
A fourth viewer remarked: "That's a pretty well developed 5 week old foetus".

Another was puzzled by a character's decision within the plot, questioning: "Why would you let the au pair go to the hospital with you? She barely knows her".
The second episode saw Sandrine reveal herself to be Zoe's daughter after her true identity was rumbled by Zoe's family.
Some eagle-eyed fans have already taken issue with The Au Pair, pointing out that its supposed Cotswolds setting doesn't quite match up with reality.
Instead of the quintessential English backdrop, The Au Pair was actually shot roughly an hour from Dublin, Ireland. The elegant Victorian environment we see is indeed the true Lis na Carrig in the well-heeled district of Foxrock, Dublin.

Despite the show's efforts to disguise its true filming location, some fans remained unconvinced.
One astute observer mentioned: "Is this going to be another Channel 5 show I watch and then wish I hadn't? I see they've done the usual thing of filming it abroad and trying to pass it off as England, despite it being obvious it isn't and just making things feel jarring."
Au Pair airs nightly at 9pm on Channel 5, with episodes to be released on streaming service, My5.
