A regular on UK TV for nearly four decades, Welsh actress Suzanne Packer is debuting as one of the new cast members of ITV's The Bay this spring. The fifth series sees Suzanne star as Anne Jackson the grieving mother to DS Jenn Townsend, played by Marsha Thomason.
Fans of the seaside-set mystery will know Suzanne's face from some big shows airing in the UK over the years, but did you know she had a famous athlete brother?

Where do we know Suzanne from? Suzanne in The BayFor 12 years Suzanne played Staff Nurse Tess Bateman and was a key character in Casualty. Her stint started in 2003.
Suzanne left Casualty in 2015 after moving from New York back to her hometown of Cardiff to star in the drama. During her time on the show she was involved in many storylines such as an affair scandal and a train crash. Since leaving Casualty Suzanne has appeared in the show once again in 2016 for the show's 30th-anniversary special.
After Casualty she played Nurse Digby in the BBC Three series In My Skin and has featured on Doctor Who, another Cardiff-based BBC programme.
Most notably she starred alongside other successful Welsh actors such as Luke Evans and Charles Dale in ITV's The Pembrokeshire Murders which was based on the true story of Welsh serial killer John Cooper.
The actress has also had roles in Vera, Midsomer Murders, The Bill, Holby City, Silent Witness and she played Josie in Liverpool soap, Brookside for 96 episodes between 1990 and 2000.

Her younger brother is sports star Colin Jackson, CBE. The former sprint and hurdling athlete became a household name after winning a silver medal at the 1988 Olympic Games. In 2018, the siblings teamed up to present the Sunday Morning show on BBC Radio Wales.
Colin was crowned two-time World Champion, twice Commonwealth Champion and four times European Champion. He also set the world record for the 110 metres hurdles in 1993.
Suzanne opened up about her close bond with her brother when their show was first announced. "Colin and I live around the corner from each other, and we're really close, so I want the show to sound like we're just sitting down and having a good old gossip," she said.
