The Golden Bacheloretteâs Joan Vassos & Chock Chapple Shockingly Reveal How Well They Actually Know Each Other After Working Through Family Drama
The Golden Bachelorette's Joan & Chock are honest.
The Golden Bachelorette's Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple answered some relationship questions to give insight to their fans about the state of their relationship after filming ended. The reality stars are living their happily ever after, sharing their love story with audiences who rooted for them all the way through The Golden Bachelorette season 1. After getting engaged last year, Joan and Chock have been open about their love story, including grappling with challenges that all couples face while still getting to know each other off-screen.
Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple revealed if they actually know each other very well after meeting and falling in love in such a short amount of time on The Golden Bachelorette.
With Joan and Chock now being public figures and in a high-profile relationship, the struggles can feel more significant, but it looks like these two lovebirds are still going strong and opening up about their relationship, including how well they knew each other when after The Golden Bachelorette. Chock recently posted a video on Instagram that showed him and Joan answering some viewer questions. The first question, "How well did you know each other when the show ended 0-100%?" elicited a smile from Joan as she admitted that she only knew Chock "30 percent" upon accepting his engagement ring.
Chock said the figure was even lower for him, like "20 to 25 percent." Joan admitted the low figure probably "sounds terrible," but through all the chaos of filming a reality show, actually getting to know people on a deeper level is unlikely. She also revealed that afterward, the two sat down to really get to know each other. As Joan explained, "He had a bottle of wine sitting there and two glasses, and he said, 'Tell me about yourself.' It was like a first date." Chock chimed in to claim it was "like an interview."

The two had a connection, but it's difficult to really get to know someone that fast, especially in front of the eyes of Bachelor fans. As Chock admitted in his video, it's extremely difficult to get to know someone well during the very short period of time it takes to film a Bachelor show. Despite all of those challenges, it appears that their "interview" was successful, as they are still together to this day, despite experiencing some bumps along the road, including Joan and Chock blending their extended families and finding a home together to start their new life.
Joan & Chock Are Just Like Every Other Couple
No relationship is easy, especially one that started on reality television. The track record for those who met and fell in love during any Bachelor Nation series is hit-or-miss, with the majority of couples not staying together for the long haul. Still, some, like The Bachelorette season 1's Trista and Ryan Sutter, are still going strong. We hope the same for the first Golden couple, Joan and Chock. Their willingness to be open about where they are and the struggles they face show that they're grounded and confident in their own love after The Golden Bachelorette.
