Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany have welcomed their third child, a baby girl named Golden Raye, completing their family's unique tradition of elemental-inspired names.
The couple made the joyful announcement on Instagram, sharing a sweet photo of Golden's tiny foot with a heartfelt caption introducing her to the world.
The Mahomes family also includes three-year-old Sterling Skye and two-year-old Patrick "Bronze" Lavon Mahomes II, each carrying on the metallic naming theme that has captured fans' attention.
The Mahomes' naming tradition has deep roots in their love for symbolism and family connections. Brittany previously revealed during a 2023 Instagram Q&A that the idea started with their dogs, Steel and Silver, both named before the couple had children.

"I got Steel in college and named him that. Then we got another dog, and I wanted to name her Sterling because it went with Steel perfectly. But I decided to save that name for my daughter," Brittany explained.
When the pair welcomed their son in 2022, Patrick's younger brother, Jackson Mahomes, played a role in naming him Bronze to complement Sterling.
"Jackson suggested Bronze to match Sterling, and it fit perfectly," Patrick shared during a press conference.
"It works out well. He can have his own thing now where he's not Patrick, he's Bronze, even though he's Patrick. And Sterling and Bronze can have that connection moving forward."
Golden's birth came at a pivotal moment for Patrick, whose team secured the NFL's top seed before the playoffs. Speaking after a Christmas Day victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Patrick joked about the timing.
"I told my pregnant wife I was gonna get her the number one seed so we can go have that baby. So we got that number one seed," he joked.
The win not only guaranteed the Chiefs an extra week of rest but also ensured that Patrick could be present for the birth of his daughter.
